Here is a video from the GoPro's we had mounted on the car a few weeks ago at Famosa. It's what they call "Saturday Night Nitro" they have 3 or 4 of these a year it's basically a Test & Tune. There were 7 TF cars and 17 NFC's some Pro Mod's and a bunch of other cars. We made 3 runs 5.80,5.81 and this night run was a 5.89 252 mph don't know why the E.T. was down from the others they were in the heat of the day 104 deg. They weren't great passes but they were consistent and clean and didn't hurt much (few pistons and sleeves). And I was able to steer the car. Last time out I took the top end cones out twice. Got some pictures with the front end about 3 in. in the air at about 900 ft. So that's was the reason for the camera's. We had 3 camera's on the car roll cage, in front on the engine looking back and one looking at the front wheels. It's kinda long but I didn't know how to edit it without screwing it up. Hope the link works never used it before. www.dropbox.com/s/bj7fzss38pr0us7/Famosa%209-6-14%20run%203.mp4?dl=0

that was awesome! That has to be an incredible feeling sitting between the tires and having that motor scream a few feet in front of you.
Thanks for taking us for a ride.

Nice runs. Looks like you are using a BBC for power?

Nice runs. Looks like you are using a BBC for power? Dave the engine is a 398 cubic in. Rodeck. Which is based off the 1957 392 Chrysler Hemi. Rodeck isn't making the block anymore he sold the tooling to Allen Johnson who makes the heads that we run. Johnson hasn't made any blocks yet. Donovan Engineering also makes a simular block. We were having steering problems on the top end. You have probably experienced not being able to steer in your car. If the front end is in the air and its going straight it's good if not its trouble. This car starts really making power about half track it is really setting me back in the seat. So they put more front wing in it plus added a 3/4 in. wicker bill. All 3 runs it started spinning the tires at about 800 -900 ft. It was going into a tire shack like it would on the low end. Chunked a set of rear tires each run. They think it was too much front wing that it was un loading the rear tires. Last week put a 1/4 in. wicker bill on front and added a in. wicker bill to the rear canards. And still spinning the tires on the top end. But on a bad track so it was hard to tell. P.S I do some resin body's and when I get a chance I have a Beretta PS / PM I have plans on doing simular to yours. Hopefully it will get you to build a 4 gear Slammer. The 4 gear cars are slow but they are a challenge and fun to make them fast. Rick

I sure had some experience with tire shake but not at 8-900'. My car would leave 2 black streaks all the way down the track and I am sure your car does the same, always at the limit of adhesion. Yours is much quicker since mine was in the low 7 second range for the 1/4 and you are running in the 5s. I would carry the front for about 40' then land and go, maybe, sometimes it would go sideways at that point. Dragsters need those wings on the front and rear more than the cars do since there is very little body to create any down force. I heard of the Donavan blocks and some of them did run the BB Chevy style big chief head. I had a Keith Black aluminum block in the Beretta with Big Chiefs on it. The same block was used with a different bolt pattern for the Chrysler Hemi head. It had six bolt mains. I would sure like to have an HO Beretta to run. I would paint it bright red just like the one I had. If you look at the picture the looks of the car are greatly improved by the spoiler in front and the extra 10" of wheelbase that was added to the race version of the body by Harwood. By the way the guy I sold the Beretta to wrecked it twice. Once he hit the brakes at the same time he pulled the chute pulling the rear up off the ground and smacking the wall. He repaired that one but I don't know about the second time.

Saw that one. Obviously no safety harness on or fire suit. Also does not know when to get out of the throttle. Very lucky to walk away from that one.
