My fastest car was a Chevy Beretta which I ran in local Pro Mod heads up racing: As you can see from the picture the motor was almost stock, I bored and stroked it to 632" with a very big hammer...
This was when the motor was first installed, 3 nitrous stages were added, 2 foggers and 2 plates, one under each carb. Here it is leaving the line, just like a stock Beretta except somehow the rear wheels drove it with little 17" wide tires.
Here is a good shot of the body which somehow was all plastic and the frame turned into tubes.
I also had this car which had a Big M 632 but it was a lot slower than the Beretta since it weighed almost
a 1000 lbs. more.:
Here is an old timing slip from the Beretta, this was an 1/8th mile track:
If you can read it, I was in the left lane, the 60' was 1.07, ET 4.7 @153. I lost that race despite my better reaction time by more than a .1

As you can see I don't take much to seriously. I was sideways with that Beretta at 100+ when I stupidly hit the throttle again after getting out of the groove. It was a qualifier and there was no need to risk it but I hit it before I was straight and in the groove again. The track personnel thought I made a great save and they complimented me, I thought I was an idiot.

Thanks for the welcome. I sold all my race cars, trailers, etc. back in 08 when the Fla real estate crash wiped out all my fun money. Of course I still miss racing so recently I dug out the old AFX cars and put together a strip with the plastic AW track. Then I added a timing system, now I am upgrading to a better track. Now the old hot rodder will emerge and I will be looking for more performance. I have been surprised at how quick I have been able to get the stock T Jet, AFX and AFX G+ cars to run.

Check - out the tech tips on these when you have time (lots of info)........ they might even get faster........ I will check that out. As with full size cars you look at what others are doing, what's working, and some good old trial and error. In my earlier full size drag cars I think I broke every drive line part you could think of and slowly got to where I was fairly bullet proof. Before I sold the Beretta I was having trouble pulling to the right when I tried to run too much power. The motor made roughly a 1000 and the 3 nitrous stages were good for that again. I could never get more than a partial shot, 250 on one stage, to the track and go straight, even then I had to lift at least once every pass. On motor it went like it was on rails running 5.0s at 135 in the 1/8th, that's about 7.8-7.9 in the 1/4. I was told that most likely the rear end was bending under hard acceleration causing it to steer to the right. It had a Ford 9" with a back brace but I was exceeding the power that rear could handle. A fellow racer said he doubled up all his 4 link plates, added more bracing and it stopped his similar problem.

Welcome Dave (You can never have enough Dave's). Great looking 1:1 rides and some stout numbers from the Beretta. Thanks. When I was younger Dave was not a popular name, now if you shout out Dave in a crowded room half the room turns around. One of my sons name is Dave too.
