Understand just having it built. Send pictures when available. If I had the house I built in Florida I could have run a full 1/4 in the garage as it was 40x32'. 10' shutdown is still nice but even with dynamic braking you will need a catch box for the faster cars. My steel question was referring to the power rails and will you be able to use traction magnets which are extremely important for some of the faster cars.
Finally getting settled into the new house. Still have over 150 boxes of die cast to open up and find a place for. Bench work is built for the new track. Total length will be 40 feet. It will be a 1/4 mile 1/64 scale with a good size shut down area. Will not be using the reverse voltage microprocessor controlled shut down as it works OK but has its issues. Will be using an airbag setup instead. Simply a heavy duty lawn garbage bag inserted into a pillow case. Air blown in from large PC muffin fans.
Track will run 1/64 on Nitroslots and 1/43 on another area.
Still have lots of work to do in the race room. When house was built I had contractor do all the rough in work. Finishing work yet to be done.
I an figuring around July or August before photos will be posted.
According to track builder they will ship by end of June.
Work on finishing off basement has fallen behind. Contractor has been fitting us in when he can as he has 6 other houses in work. Right now it looks like basement work will not be completed until Sept at which time I can set the track bench work into position.
Got around to opening the new track for inspection. All I can say is "WOW" !!!!!
Little history - I started out years go pre Nitroslot days with an orginal MaxTrax strip. It received a lot of use and in various sections the rail was wearing away. Decided to replace it with a TKO track a few years back. Track ran great but then the rails started to pull up, most likely due to high strength magnets! With the move from Dallas Tx to Minnesota a new track was in order since we had the house built with a basement. Ordered up a Quarter Mile 1/64th scale with a 220" shutdown area. When I opened the box today I could not believe what I saw. Not only is the track 1st class construction but even the packing was 1st class along with detailed instructions and a personal thank you from the builder! If ANYONE is considering a custom track do not rule out the new owner at MaxTrax.
Sure wish other business were like them.

While waiting for the basement to be completed I decided to order up a new 3D printer. It arrived today and after a little adjustments I am getting some terrific parts off of it. In fact the new printer is so good it is forcing me to clean up my files I designed a few years ago! Plan n cranking out lots of detail parts for the new track plus parts for HO and 1/43 cars.
Looking forward to getting the basement completed. Wish September had come and gone already!
For those who were involved with the 1/43 scale events while I was located in Dallas I have decided to get them going again.
Once completed the new track will be for HO and 1/43 scale events. However I want to make it clear that the HO events hosted on the new track will be through the Nitroslots forum. I started way back when Nitroslots had another name and it has been 100% HO scale. I hope to host at least one event per year on Nitroslots with the new track. The 1/43 scale will be for those interested in giving it a try. I know some really got a kick out of it. Any way Sam is aware of this and is on board with it. Thanks Sam!
