Well, sorta!!! Bear with me!! Since I have had to push back the order of the routed 1/4 mile strip and DP3000 timing system till mid-December (gotta keep Momma happy with the remodel!!), I needed something to use to set up my cars. In preparation for Jeff's race, I set up the AW drag strip I had bought sometime back on one of my work benches in the Dungeon. Not having any "racing" batteries in house anymore (I was a pure DC activist!!! LOL!!!) I just used the feeble little 13v wart. Big time brain fart!!! The AW track is as wavy as Lays potato chips and using the wart, well, just chock it up to the bang on the head I took a few years ago. So, it was off to ebay. I found a good used (looks new!) 0-24v, 0-10a linear power supply on eBay for $40 shipped and enough Aurora 9" & 15" L&J straights to build a scale 1000' with ample shut-down for $24 shipped. I am gonna hold off on a timing system for now but at least I can see and hear how they will run. For now I will set it up on a simple base as it can sit on my bench but thinking I will eventually lengthen it to a 1/4 and build a more solid base so that I can use it as a portable track. With that, I am off to Home Depot to find some decent 1 x lumber, wish me luck!!

They make adapters that might allow you to use the AW timing system with the L&J track. They do have AW to AFX and AFX to L&J, not sure if there is AW to L&J directly. It may not be to hard to make some if they're not available.

Got the base about 85% done. Still need to connect the sections and make some brackets to attach it to the front of my bench. Yes, the Dungeon is a mess!

I have this track together and powered but that is as far as I am going with it. I am going to get a routed track and spoke with 2 track makers last week and will be talking to a third tomorrow. Hoping to do a little routing myself this winter on 1/24 scale 1/8 mile.
