I am getting ready to order a track. I am leaning heavily towards one of the 3 color options most track builders offer. I am asking simply to see the opinions of others. Light Gray, Dark Gray, or Black track?

I am getting ready to order a track. I am leaning heavily towards one of the 3 color options most track builders offer. I am asking simply to see the opinions of others. Light Gray, Dark Gray, or Black track? I don't possess enough knowledge of the difference of the three color choices, other than photos I've seen. If they were all the same price, my personal preference would be black. I have read on various forums that a shade of gray is preferred when building & routing a track because it's supposed to resemble asphalt when it weathers. After painting my present track gray, I don't necessarily hold that opinion presently. I like my color but wish I'd went with black or at least a super dark gray. I like the look of fresh asphalt myself . No matter what color you choose to go with, I'm sure it's going to be fast as hades. Enjoy your new track and please share your experience with us!

Light Gray, Dark Gray, or Black track? I have the light gray Maxx Trax. I got it because I wanted authenticity. But I share the same feeling that GTS does. I have seen pics of the black and I wish I had gone with that. Function over color though......I am very happy with what I have. Look forward to seeing the progress.

I am leaning heavily towards black. Hard part I am having at the moment is getting one of three track makers to give me what I want. One cannot deliver till the end of January at the earliest, and they really don't want to do black. Another includes items that I do not want under the premise that the other track makers charge for them. However, their price is equal to the other makers when you buy the extras. Just started talking with the third maker, hopefully something good will come of it. They offer their track already railed or in kit form which is fine by me. If I had the room, I am almost to the point I'd buy a CNC router and make my own!! Grrrrrr!!
