Hey Matt, Brutal work week for me, but glad to do a AW 4 Gear test on Saturday. I have 4 new AW chassis I can test, and if I dig I think I have 2 original 4 Gears as well for a comparison.

Sorry for the late responce Matt, but I did get to test some 4 Gear's this weekend while I was prepairing my road course for Mondays Sports GT Club Race on my track.
I tryed 4 new AW 4 Gears out of the box at 13.8v on my 15'-2" track....
The fastest was 1.756, with the traction Magnets in. When I removed the traction Magnets I trimmed the time to 1.532...
NICE.
My best orignal 4 gear (without the blue arm) was a serious dog at 1.978.
I hope this helps with a baseline for the class.
Sam did you say your Bus ran a .9 run at 13.8.v.... Crap I'm sunk !

Ok good first start on testing,but what about using slilcon slip on's would that be quicker for the Orig 4 gear??
So where do we go from here??

The times that I posted was with the low profile silicone tires on an original 4 gear. Also, the times that I posted was for a chassis with no body.
Kdog, thanks for trying them for us. The .9's for Sam's bus was on 25.6v. I have a AW 4 gear chassis on the way. It should be here early this week. When it gets here I'll do some testing and tuning and post some times.

My AW 4 gear showed up today and I did a few test runs.
I started by removing the t-mags and just oiled the normal spots. With the stock tires on 13.8v it ran a best pass of 1.287. I then switched to a set of silicones and ran a best of 1.200.
The best pass that I got on the original 4 gear was 1.266. Both chassis were tested with no body on them.

Kdog, that was on 25.6 volts.
Thanks for the results guys. I didn't get a chance to do any testing yet. I do like the results Matt has for a non traction magnet 4 gear chassis. That would my choice for this class but will leave it up to you guys.

Scottman, if you are happy with these rules we can ask Ninjatek to finalize them.  Bodies to be pre 1985. If anyone else has any comments please let us hear them. I would like to get the rules set as soon as possible. thanks 440 |

Thanks you guys for all the testing,it just goes to show you what a great bunch of guys are on here.All i did was suggest an event with a certain car and everyone went into action.You guys are great and thats what i have missed racing with you guys and thats why iam back.You Sam,kdog and anybody else Rock, on here..iam still new at this and you guys are so helpful.........THANKS!!!!! Now with rules set....,LETS SIGN UP EVERYONE.!!!!!!!!!!
Are we going to keep enteris to just one or two cars??

Just FYI guys you know the Guy I told you about that does those 4 gear AFX funny car Bodies??
Well this past week and this week he is creating a Pro Stock Body for the 4 Gear Chassis,He told me sometime this weekend he will send me some photos.maybe iam seeing a Late Fall AFX 4 Gear Pro Stock Meet,LOL
But Honestly the guy does awsome Work on Bodies for the AFX chassis.,as well as some Great Decals!!

I'll get a thread up later today. I'd be up for a NTRA Nostalgia Pro Stock (tjet) and a four gear Funny car event if somebody wanted to hold the event later this year or ?. I'm guessing this will be one of the new AW Pro Stocks. It's a AW die cast and the wheel base lines up on a four gear chassis.  |
