Decided to do a complete rebuild of my old FED (front engine dragster). Don't see these anymore.

Getting back to it after a Memorial Day break camping. Winding some motors for some racers. In the background is my casting of a Henry J and in front of that is my Ford Probe pro stock. It is setting on one of my carbon fiber chassis with wheelie bars and my custom delrin wheels. Now just have to figure out a paint job for it. This second photo has three paint projects I am working on. The black 40 Ford will get flames and an Eagle chassis with LifeLike can motor, altered goes on a modified DR1 chassis and the red vette will go onto a Super III. The Super III won't be your everyday Super III.

Got some motors finished and now it is time to turn down some foam on the lathe. Then I will coat them in silicone. They will be mounted on our milled and true delrin rims.

Robert, I am still impressed by all your skills. who makes the armature winding machine I see in one of the pictures above? That is very kind of you. The Winning Edge, I bought it years ago. I made some parts for it that allow me to do modern inline motors also.

Here is an altered I ran in the FED class, Jeff talked about. I just might have to do a little thinking outside the box and see what I can come up with.

Had to do a little digging to find this photo. The approach I took was different from Jeff's. I made a shaft that allowed the racer to remove a worn cluster gear easily. The cluster gear was just like the original. I used a torch to bond the gears. I did another 4G top that had sliding idler gear shafts to allow for different size gears I made. The top was all brass. This setup had my first adjustable traction magnets. My design abilities are a little better than they were back then. I would change the design. The FED/Altered class was a lot of fun.

It has been along time since I made any metal gears. So here is my beginning effort. This pic is the sprue tree. I will slide a metal flask over it and fill it with investment mix. After it sets up I will put it in my hillbilly investment oven and burn out the wax. Then I will set it on my vacuum table hit the vac and pour the metal into the flask.

Nice to see you are making some metal gears. I would be interested in some when they are done.
