Very nice. Molotow liquid chrome is great stuff and gives a very nice finish. Bought some of the liquid chrome. Best chrome paint by far that I have seen. I got the 1mm size tip and it is great for detail work.

Xtreme Metal AK 477 Chrome, here is a paint I am trying out. I used a PointZero airbrush with a 2mm needle. It is a cheap airbrush but, hey it does the job. First spray item with black primer then cover that with gloss black. Let it dry. Then spray chrome paint, it laid down real nice. The air pressure is like 15 to 20 psi. My airbrush has a micro dial in feature. That let's me adjust the flow from the airbrush even more. The paint is used straight from the bottle no thinning needed. The chrome paint goes on dull but, after it drys a nice shine pops out. The picture does not do it justice. A couple of sweet features is it is very durable and you can buff with an old tee-shirt to make shine even more.

Robert,
Thanks thanks for this post on the AK477. Been looking for some good chrome paint. Sadly most paints proclaiming to be chrome are nothing more than plain silver, with the notable exception of the Molotow pens. Reviews for the AK477 on eBay are mixed. It’s good to get the opinion of somebody we can trust
How do you think it would do for brush on applications? I’m looking to use it for fine detailing in places that are hard to access with the pens.

The AK477 Chrome is horrible for brush application. I tried it, at least for me. Molotow has a brighter chrome shine than the AK477 Chrome. The Molotow does not accept and hold the shine as well when clear coat is applied. At least that is my experience. The AK477 does hold it's shine. At least with the clear coat I use. I spray UVLS Clear Gloss it is a Acrylic-Aliphatic Polyurethane by Createx Colors and I use their Wicked color group. The AK477 is way more durable than Molotow chrome. Even before clear coated. It is hard to beat an airbrush application for smoothness with a brush or Molotow pen. Okay I have been doing some research on chrome paints. I have found that the Molotow can be airbrushed with no thinning needed. I will be purchasing a refill pen and giving it a try. So stay tuned for results.

Prepping some armature blanks for some unlimited winds. In the back is an on going project, my 40 Ford. I have been working on this one for awhile. I have just about completed my new narrow 3D printed design for bodies that required a chassis on the narrow side, like the 40 Ford. This new chassis will work on several new castings I have in mind.
