Hello racers I have a question. I have found some decal paper by Dr. Decal & Mr. Hyde. Has anyone tried this decal paper? I have been looking for decal paper that is super thin and this comes in at 8 Microns. Oh my new printer is a laser printer. If anyone has info let's here it, thank you.

I don't know anything about that particular brand of paper unfortunately. I will be checking it out though. I have been wanting to find a thinner paper for awhile now. My thinking was I needed it to be thinner so as not to show the edge as much. Then I received a tip from one of our top customizers that maybe it was the sealer I was using that made them so thick. He uses the same paper that I've been using and his customs do not show an edge. Turns out he was absolutely correct. I am now sealing my decals with acrylic lacquer which dries much thinner and the results are much much better. Don't need but one coat to adequately seal them. Still learning. This may not help you Robert, but it may help others. Keep us updated on your findings if will please. Thanks for the tip.

Don't know much about making decals but I do have a bunch of decal paper that I believe was for laser printers. Let me know if you would be interested.

Robert the decal paper I've been using with my Alps printer and is by far the best paper I've ever tried. I got it from Papa Tango www.tangopapadecals.com/ The Alps prints with heat like a laser printer does. I got a HP laser printer about 6 months ago and haven't had a chance to really play with it yet. But I did print some test decals with the Papa Tango paper I used was at least 6 years old and it worked really good. With the laser you don't need to seal the decal like Jeff was talking about. You just print give it a few minutes to dry and apply just like a regular decal. They go on nice and thin. I've been wanting to get a laser for a long time now and finally made the plunge. I got it on eBay new for a couple hundred dollars. Hope that helps. Rick

The jump between ink jet and laser is pretty steep sometimes. Ink jet is a viable option that most anyone can do and coupled with a good decal paper get some good results. The printer that I have now is new and I am very pleased with the results. I will eventually make that jump to a laser jet at some point. Robert is the one that showed me how to make decals for the first time .

I have now got my technique down on this machine and can pretty much print any type of decal I want. The only hold back is finding just the right decal material for what I want to do. I am hoping the Mr. Decal Dr. Hyde decal paper is the one.

Here is my version of the Auto World Super III, I call it the Super 3 Plus. I have added adjustable traction magnets, ball bearings on the armature , Tomy Mega G pickup system with Super G+ pickup springs. It also has the set screws not unlike the P3 Patriot for adjusting the brushes.

That's bada$$ Robert! You know the million dollar question....what kind of ET's are you getting? Are the brush tubes designed with the set screws or did you modify to accept screws?

Good idea. Are you selling the adjustable traction magnets Robert? I would like to adapt them to some chassis.

Thank you, I have not run it yet. The brush tubes are stock AW and I just bought set screws that fit the barrel. There is a lot of work to modifying this chassis for what I have done to it. Lots and lots of grinding and shaping. I will post ETs at a later date.

What size set screws did you use on the brush barrels? 2-56 set screws didn't fit in my Super III, which led me to believe the barrels might be tapped for metric screws.
