Ok here are a few humorous notes I've compiled from my first serious Tjet build. These notes are from a newbie to other newbies so you don't make the same mistakes as me.
1. Shunts are a P.I.T.A. don't run them if you don't have to. If you do decide you want that punishment. DO NOT soldier them directly to the brush spring tips. You cant adjust the spring pressure if you do.
2. A pencil tip on your iron would have been very helpful. A chisel tip got the job done but it was a royal pain and I melted the chassis in places you don't normally want to melt a chassis.
3. Don't forget to unplug your soldiering iron when your done. Yea that smell your smelling isn't your brain frying from being frustrated with the shunts, its you iron burning away.
4. Invest in a nice pair of needle tip pliers, you'll thank me later when soldering braids, shunts, and installing brushes.
5. Pickup springs when dropped disappear in carpet. If you drop one, or 2,3,4,5 of them they are gone forever.
6. Poly mags will stick to everything, and I mean everything. Yea don't set that new box of magnets the post man delivered on top of your computer. The computer wont like you too much for doing so.
7. Make note the orientation of the magnets when they come out of the car and WRITE IT DOWN. I put them in backwards, twice.
8. Glue your tires to the rim. They haven't invented mini beadlocks for these things yet and tires will go flying when testing.
9. If you glue the guide pin on make sure is perpendicular to the chassis.
10. Don't try to reinvent the wheelie bar on your first build. There is a very well written how to in this section on wheelie bars.
11. Car didn't move?? You did put the brushes in right?
12. If the car is VERY inconsistent check that the wheelie bar isn't slightly lifting the rear tires off the track.
13. Your cat is gonna love its new electric mouse.
I'm sure I have more, tjet vets feel free to chip in with your newb tips.
