CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2014 NTRA INTERNATIONAL CLASS EVENT WINNERS! Excellent races in this year's International event. The finals, outstanding!
In NFC, ks1933 builder of both cars made it a drivers race with both cars
running equal ETs. Nitroviking takes STREET with holeshot win over TGM2054.
Great endings to a great event.
Congrats to HairyCanary on his capture of 'Best in Show'.
I hope everyone enjoyed the fantastic video coverage brought to us by KiwiDave
and the Voltage Valley crew. Thanks Dave and Voltage Valley crew, once again
you have done a great job hosting.
If you haven't raced with NTRA, what are you waiting for? You've been looking
long enough. Ask a question! Get in the discussion! Get involved! Get in the race!
Thanks to all that participated. Hope to see you all at a NTRA event real soon.
And now the back story. Those of you who anxiously awaited the start of the delayed event may be curious
as to the hold-up. Maybe not, but this is a story that must be told. Quite often
things go on in the background of NTRA events that the general membership is not
made aware of. These incidents come up and are resolved as they are usually items
of no concern to the general membership. In this case what happened had potential
to have been disastrous to all who sent an entry to the event.
As was announced the shipment was held up in customs. The reason being is insured
value placed on the package. As Race Director for NTRA I wanted to make sure that
in event of the shipment being lost or damaged that all who sent an could be made
whole. I guess I did so not giving consideration as to the consequences that may
arise at the other end. Due to the insured value of the package a rather expensive
duty tax was imposed. Dave being the great Racemaster he is and having a 'the show
must go on' attitude, without hesitation ponied up the hefty ransom. Without even
so much as a blink Dave took possession of the cars rallied his crew and put on
one of NTRA's greatest events. For this I feel we all are to be grateful to Racemaster
Dave and his crew for the extra efforts endured and his valiant sacrifice. Many of
you have already expressed thanks to Dave for the great race. Knowing the back story
I ask that you thank again in a post, send a PM, or even a postcard (but don't insure
it
).
Just thought everyone should know this behind the scenes story.
Dave has already suggested ways to avoid this happening again and is looking forward to hosting again next year.
