Wonderful news from both Dave632 and 68camaro. By all means the events held at MAPLE GROOVE are all for fun Good to hear this. Regards - Alan Alan as you can see from his post, I talked it over with my son and he reconsidered running. Alan your track is surely a good one and our cars ran almost identical at your track and here. Surprisingly the car that was disqualified was off it's normal pace by about 1/2 a tenth which is a huge amount for these cars. It had run as quick as a .5733 here and the last pass on the day it left was in the .58s. That particular car was put together about 40 years ago. It still has all the same parts in it except for things like brushes, tires and pick ups, We actually have a lot of fun going head to head here at my home track. I have the OK and will be holding a race in August.

I had no idea anything was wrong as the car had been put together some 40 years ago. It was just my best car of that type but my sons car showed it was quicker on every run including the final. I had much more of a problem about who protested, as he was not in the race, and most of all how it was done. If he had simply contacted Cordell or Alan in a private message there would certainly have been no problem. I won that race on a hole shot. I would have rather seen the other car, which was my sons car, win since he had the better performing car. According to Alan it was a great race, .007 MOV, which should be what we are looking for. Now as to if those 2 changes made any difference in performance my answer would be no way. I am not against rules by any means as they are a means of making up a class of racing. Some rules however need to be looked at closely to see if they make any sense.
