Was wondering if anyone has had any success using a Mega knock off with Drag RC software. Sure would like to hear about any experiences.

Not familiar with Drag RC software. Is it made for RC style cars?

Not familiar with Drag RC software. Is it made for RC style cars? No. I use Race Coordinator for my 4 lane Tomy road course track and have wanted a scale 1/4 mile track for some time. I am just in the investigative part of the timing method and considered using Drag Race Coordinator for that. At it's present state of development (alpha release), it only uses either Arduino UNO or Arduino Mega for communication via USB to a computer. I've read where some of the Chinese produced knock offs can be difficult to get set up to work with the Drag RC, so thus my inquiry. An original Arduino Mega would bring the cost that much closer to a Slot car Dragon set up, which I also am strongly considering. I certainly admire your work (HO drag cars) and thank you for your reply!

I am familiar with the Slot Dragon system, it works well and they give good support. If you are considering it I would recommend it. TrackMate makes a good system but the price is much higher, 795.00 and you need a computer, monitor, and printer along with it. I use the DP3000HO with a couple of options. It has worked well for several years now. Support is lacking if you have a problem however.

Just an update: Got the Arduino Mega communicating with the computer and the Drag RC sketch loaded. Haven't programmed any sensors yet as I've put this on hold while I try to get a couple cars ready for the 2018 NTRA Winter Nationals "Bracket Race" at Bear Creek. When I get back to it after the Winter Nationals, I'll start a new thread documenting the building of a scale 1000 foot track and the workings of the software.
Thanks for the read, Gale
