2nd Round of Eliminations
Some good racing in this round. The Jungle Jim is still pullin' the same kinda times, amazing. Takes it away from the Grand Am.
This race was the closest race of the entire event so far, wow! It was pretty much over in the first 60'. The Summit Camaro had a little bit of tire spin off the line and that's all it took for the Wing Nut to deliver the win! At 60' the Camaro was at .159 and the Vette was at .138, the Camaro tried to catch up but just couldn't quite make it. Wow, what a race! The Wing Nut is in the Semi's.
I'm sure these two have raced before. The Red 63 Corvette is hungry for the win and has been improving. Purple Haze is up for the challenge and ready to rock! The lights turn green and the 57 Chevy does it's best run to take the win.
The Chevy C10 is wanting this win big time. Turns in it's slow time of the day though but still takes the win as the Cuda has a bad run, too.
Semi's and finals comin' up next.

That is a pain in the but with Top Cat. It ran well at home but I only have some Tomy track to test them on, maybe just the extra grip did it for the gears? I will sort I when it comes home and get ready for next time. Clive Hey Clive. Do not know what chassis your running but you need a 4 gear chassis with a screw that holds the gear plate to the chassis. Like the new Auto Word Chassis have. Or an Aurora Magnatraction chassis has. The gear plate has a tendency to lift at launch enough to slightly unmesh the gears. Also if the gear plate clamp is loose this will cause the same problem.Regardless that Jag is a beautiful car. Keep it positive Vince Thanks Vince, The chassis on the Jag is the early Magnatraction 4G without the screw. That is probably what has happened. Clive

Semi Finals
Wow, another exciting bit of racing, it just never ends.
First up is the Wing Nut Corvette (one of my favorites ) and the 70 Camaro "Jungle Jim", the most consistent runner of the event. The Corvette turns in it's best time today, only to have the Camaro do the same and the Camaro takes the win.
Another one of my favorites (been a Jimi fan forever), Purple Haze and the Hillbilly Hearse. This was shaping up to be a really close race. The Chevy C10 had turned a winning time the run before and the 57 Chevy just kept getting better, so we'll see. The lights turn green and they take off together. At just past the 330' mark the Hillbilly Hearse jumps out of the slot and starts rollin' over & over down the track. It lands on it's wheels half way between 660' and the finish line. It stayed in it's lane and never touched a barrier. I was like, what the ..... . . . Well I finally walked up to it looking at the slot very carefully along the way. Nothing visual, so picked up the car and turned it over. Lo and behold .......
Here's where it landed on the track. The driver walked away .
It appears the front axel broke or sumpthin'. I didn't touch or move anything! I'm just gonna wrap it in tissue and put it in a bag. Never seen nuthin' like it. Needless to say, nosubfor3 takes the win.
Okay, after all that, are we ready for the final?
All right this is the final, nosubfor3 with his 57 Chevy "Purple Haze" vs dave632 with the 70 Camaro "Jungle Jim". Don't take any offense, Dave but I'm rootin' for Purple Haze . To no avail, Jungle Jim turns his best time of the day to take the win for the 4 Gear Door Slammer class.
A freakin' clean sweep of the weekend, congratulations Dave !! Pretty awesome showing!

there are non magna-traction original Aurora 4 gear (specialty) chassis that have the screw in the back to hold the gear plate down.
congrats Dave on your sweep!!!

In all the previous pictures of the truck, the left side front axle pin is hanging out. I guess it finally came out . Probably why the ET's were falling off if the wheel was wobbling and rubbing on the body. Congratulations on the win Dave! Great weekend for your cars. Great coverage Gale!!

I ran the Angry Jeff Racing creation, the Luv pickup, once in each lane and have the results:
- Lane 1 @ 1.164 ET - Lane 2 @ 1.072 ET
Those two added together is 2.236 and divided by 2 is 1.118 ET
Mazda & Kiwidave were the two closest guessers, mazda was .042 away and kiwidave was .028 away.
Kiwidave is the winner!
Congratulations Dave, I'll get that mailed to you .

We'll have a short awards presentation in the morning with some pics. All the judges were able to get their results back to me and I'll announce that result in the morning also.
And then it's on to the PSO and 4GO events.

Must say I am very surprised with the results this weekend especially the 4G class. I was sure Jeff or one of the other guys would show me the way to the end of the track in 4G. I appreciate you holding the event Gale, thanks again and great job. I understand you rooting for the other car GTS, I was kinda pulling for NoSubs car myself. Jungle Jim was never that consistent here. I had some monster .600 wheels on it when testing and I switched to some smaller .490 tires on the larger rims which brings them over .500. This helped ET while losing some speed in the traps. Seems like Jeff's car broke an axle, must have been from a wheelie. To bad that was shaping up to be a close race.

Congratulations Dave for the sweep. It’s hard enough to make it to the final and to win all three is pretty impressive. Congratulations to Vince for runner up and Kiwi Dave for winning the truck. And to all the entries there was some great looking cars. And again I can’t say enough about the great racing and coverage. Nice Job Gale !

wow, it does appear that the stainless tube used as front axle has slipped out the other side of the front of the chassis considerably and the pin holding the loose wheel just came all the way out of the tubing.
