Black with flames will go fast... some how Bill I'm not sure what you did there. You took the oldest cool looking paint job that has stood the test of time. Flames on black paint. Put it on that Javelin and some how pulled off the appearance of a new scheme. Excellent!!!

Bill, Those are flaming nice cars!!! (is that a swear word?) Where are those wheels from please? Ken, Those wheels are on the Afx style Johnny Lightning Thunderjet chassis’s. Not sure if anybody has successfully adapted then to a slot car. They have a ridge centered on the tire mounting surface. The wheels on the 55 Chevy are stock AW Xtraction parts.

Hobby Lobby is now selling the alligator clips mounted on thin dowels, like the ones I made to hold the bodies while painting. They also carry plastic bases with holes to stand the dowels in.

That looks good Bill. That has always been a popular style of flames.

Here’s a Nomad that’s on eBay. Wasn’t happy with the result and was about to drop it in the stripper vat but decided to list it with a low starting price, and see what happens. Right now it’s the subject of a bidding war. Go figure? It looked really good after the flames were applied. The clear seemed to wash out the color of the flames. In the past, I’ve seen that the clear coat seems to liquify the candy blue Johnny Lightning paint. You are definitely mastering the multi color flame fades Bill! These cars are beautiful. My favorite are the old school flames like are on the first Nomad and some of the ones that fade into "ghost flames". It looks like you are the only one doing any customizing right now so keep posting please.
