Yep, thanks for the testing. At Bear Creek, where else.
Only one conclusion I can see from the results posted. As far as comparing one chassis to the other. The Dash with lapping & slip-on would probably be as fast if not faster. Pick-up contact gave a 1 sec improvement. Lapping & tires should be good for another half, easy.
If testing was done with the same improvements to each chassis then differences would be more apparent. If then motor magnets were switched between chassis reason for difference could be as plain as the nose on your face. Also tunning done by same person would eliminate any doubt as to results. ....................Peter

Hey Nosub, list goes back and forth. D#1 no tunning (guessing), D#2 had improved pick-ups (contact patch, another guess) #2 was faster by a sec.

... There's some interesting information there... Yeah, like your car kept getter faster and faster. Had the match race been best of 7 I do not think I would have fared as well. Yeah but you won that one Cordell! Actually I'm really happy with the performance of that car considering that I had to make a last minute motor change. I'm looking forward to getting a Dash chassis and messing with it.

For what its worth I ran a Dash chassis in the last bracket race. It was the Yellow Willys with the flames on it.
All I did was lap the gears which for some reason was hard to do. Not sure what the gears are made of but it took a long time to get them to quite down .
Here are a few of the times it turned and yes I know the voltage was higher for the bracket race.
Qual time : 1.7880
1st round: 1.7130
2nd round: 1.6320

Hey Alan, I love it when a car peaks right on time...... lol......just not in a bracket race..... Did you run the car before lapping ? Have any idea of the difference it made ? ............. Peter

Peter. I know it was in the high 3s at 13.8 volts.
Do not recall the exact figures

Was curious what difference you might have seen before and after lapping.......... did you run both ways at 13.8v ? Seeing the times posted in test. Has me thinking lapped gears and slip-ons would give the Dash, another 5 tenths. Slip-ons alone might do that. .............. Peter

Pete, Stock Dasher out of the bubble wrap and on the track was in the high 3s at 13.8vdc
Lapped the gears with Simichrome numerous times and the time came down to the low 3s. Lapping those gears was a chore! I have no idea what the material is but they never really got very quite and could have been much smoother. I have lapped other gears and never have I had a problem.
I am thinking of finding something a little more coarse and then ease into the Simichrome.
Hope its OK there!
Alan

Thanks Alan, thought difference would be around 4 or 5 tenths.
Between this and the testing done think it would be safe to say Dash stock or with same mods as T-jet will be the faster of the two.
Bet dollars for donuts, because of m/mags. Only class for Dash would have to be one in which Dash m/mags are legal. ............................... Peter
