173049151947 Found a parts lot on eBay with what looks like a couple of quadralam arms. Thinking they may be the Xcellerator variety. See link above.

I had some of those. For some reason the quadralam arms did not perform that well, at least the ones I had didn't.

I have an original quadralam from when I was a kid. I had Tjet Scriggs rewind it to factory specs for me, but I have not put it in anything yet. Eagle and I have talked about putting up a road course and using them on those builds but that never transpired. I have acquired several of the DASH quadralams and recently used one in a 4 gear build for a customer. I don't know that it is really any better or worse than a 2 or 3 lam of the same ohm rating. With some basic tuning...braids...shunts it ran mid .6's @ 20v. I'm running better than that with my 6 ohm Doorslammer. But there was still more in it. The DASH quads are at nuetral timing and my original looks to have a slight amount of advanced timing.

They did have a timing advance built into the comm plate. In my experience the Dash 4 ohm quad is not the best for drag racing. It seems the 4 laminations kill bottom end, (the opposite of what you would think), but once they get rolling top end is at least as good as a mean green. A lot of my mean green 6 ohm arms will easily outrun any of the 4 ohm Dash arms and my Street outlaw car will murder the best of them by a full tenth. I tried running Poly magnets on the Dash 4 ohms to make up for the weak bottom end with no luck. Has anyone else had better luck?

That's what I noticed also was a small amount of bottom end loss. Could see it in the 60' times. It takes a little more power and time to get that extra weight moving.

I put this in my FED with Poly magnets and ran mid to high .5s. I don't have the fancy timing system mine is basic so I can't give 60ft. times.

I am fortunate to have a upper end timing system now that I can get the incrementals. It helps tremendously with tuning. I like the DASH quads and want to do more with them at some point.

Have any of you fooled around with the Xcellerators quadralams? They seem to be totally different than the Super II, with a gear cast into the brass shaft and it looks like more windings.
