I just saw the Thunderbird on top of your catch box in one of the pics above. Looks like an AJR body. That's the first Tbird I've seen painted up. I haven't had a chance to do that one myself yet. Nice job!! I am a huge Glidden fan! That is gnome's catch box and yes, that does look really well done. Your AJR T-Bird body is really a cool fit and is on my list to do, also. Yep that is right! I didn't get you two confused this time....just the tracks. Sorry Gale I thought that was yours. Thanks for clearing that up. Still wish I could come by and race with ya

The T bird is sitting in the staging area waiting for the races to start. It is well done. I used individual track lights on my track so that I could aim them at the photocells. It worked fairly well but would occasionally cause a timing miss. The IR emitters seem to do a better job and I rarely get a miss with them except in the speed trap, don't know why. Here is a close up of the t bird. Glidden T birdThanks Dave for posting the picture. Man that one is a beauty!

Sorry about the thread bomb GTS but let me say thank you for the compliments it means a lot, I like that car alot myself 1st it was a gift from AJR and his event, 2nd the first custom ford for my collection, 3rd a chance to do a tribute to one of my all time heroes, and the body that Jeff has made fit the chassis really nice and you can be a judge of the finish. Looking forward to racing at GTS some day !!! Thank you all

You've done a fantastic job in very short order. The red and gold/yellow looks really good! I would be very interested in a "how to" on what you did on the logo printing. Good stuff going on at Good Times Speedway.

Thanks guys! 1 - Internet access/Google images; I googled "images of drag race sponsors" and came up with quite an assortment. Looking thru them, if I found one I might use, I would select it and then when it enlarged I would right click on it and 'save image as'. I always save them as jpeg's cause it works best for me, the png's don't work so hot with my software so if it comes up as a png I pass.I keep a folder with just the images of the sponsors. Most are jpegs and most have a white background. Then I would google "images of crowds in bleachers". Most seemed useless for my needs but I found a few. I saved those the same way. Once you get an assortment that you think you can work with you can manipulate them as you see fit. I use Windows 7 and MS Paint is included. I use Paint to crop photos (jpeg's) cause it's there and it's easy. I didn't crop any of the photos that I used but you might find the need. 2 - Graphics Software; there are some free graphics programs out there and most will allow to import various formats and manipulate them or you might already be setup with Illustrator or a reasonable facsimile. I use Flexi Sign cause I have it and I'm used to it. I had a 4" x48" space I needed to fill so I sized the images accordingly, kinda eyeballed it, didn't use any exact scaling. Once I got the bleacher image sized and repeated for the space I made a 1" x 48" light gray bar to simulate a wall and arranged the various sponsors. Once satisfied with that, I set up the images for a single 8.5"x11" print. The image size I settled on for printing allowed me to print 2 sections of bleacher per page, 3 printed pages total. The pic shows how I set it up for print. I printed on 8.5x11 postage labels, the kind split in the middle and peel the backing to stick. The ones I have are pretty stout and don't seem to wrinkle up. Here's a link to download a pdf of the pic above and you can print as is; link . Speaking of links, here's that same file in various formats for your downloading pleasure. Only difference being I left the wall blank on one of the images as in this pic. *.ai file = link*.eps file = link*.psd file = linkNot sure about the psd file (I don't use Photoshop) but the ai & eps files you should be able to import and manipulate in your graphics software. 3 - Printing/Assembly; after printing and drying, I trimmed with scissors or you could use ruler and blade. I mounted my prints on some .080 styrene I had but depending on the adhesive, you could mount on just about any suitable substrate. Well. I tried to make this informative but I'm sure I left out lot's. So any questions, please feel free to ask away! Enjoy and have fun, Gale

Well, I don't know what the heck happened but I went back to review this thread and the photo links were gone on the first 5 - 1/2 pages. I replaced the photos on the first 4 pages and will get the rest by tomorrow, it's time consuming . I certainly do apologize for the glitch! I know I don't appreciate missing photos in threads.
G
EDIT: All replaced. Hope they stay this time .........
