Sam Just a comment, grind off the front and rear bumpers cut out the rest of the interior. This would make a super dry lake racer, add a lowered interior minimal glass and just generally streamline that baby. Some of the drylakes guys were regulars at the local drag races anyway. The thought just poped into my head when I saw the body. I resurected a Tyco Pro 32 Vicky everything but the main body was trashed, it was to wide for a T- Jet so i removed 1/8in from the middle and glued it back together. It's an almost finished altered I'll post a photo soon. Kevin

Great idea. Resurrected Treasures. Beginning photo of the basket case. Half way photo so you know it's still the same car and then the finished photo. Winner gets some of the junk bodies in the bottom of my box for round 2 cause I know I won't have the time or talent to keep up with you guys.

Dry Lake racer would be cool. Do you have any pics handy of a 56 Corvette? I was looking around online and couldn't find any. Here is what I did find. Phil, send me something for a future project on the forum and I'll send it back to you when I'm done. Kevin, that must of been a job taking an 1/8" from the center. Please do post pics when it's ready.

That actually is not a bad starting place I'll dig into some books I have on the subjuct and see if i can come up with some thing better. They blank out the headlights and anything that could cause drag. The front wheels tend to be pizza cutter wheels. Im going to post a couple of my Dry Lake cars just for the fun of it.

Started to smooth up the wheel wells and interior. After sanding a little bit you can see where there is a giant low spot on the trunk. I'm guessing some one put some sort of a firework in the hole, Rocket car maybe? I was going to mount this to a Tjet but the top of the body hits the gear plate. I want the body to sit lower than on a pan chassis so I thought I would use a narrow 440-X2. This will also take up space in the hacked up rear tire wells.

ROCKET CAR ! Sam even you have to admit there is something very attractive to a 12 year old boy about adding a rocket to a slotcar. I used to build those solid axle AMT kits, at 12 & 14 my brother and I used to coat them with flamible glue light them and race them down the driveway. If only we could have found good drivers then WOW that would have been awesome ! The vett looks good I enjoy these series. I am taking photos of the Little Red Wagon wheel stander build up step by step as well, and will share them when I get closer to finishing.
If you have to go, do it in a blaze of Glory! Kdog

Found a driver from a very junked Can-Am Shadow, no desire to put that one together. Working on filling the passenger side. I used styrene. Just turn the body upside down and trace the opening with a marker. This will get you close but will take some more trimming. Kevin, what did you use to make your roll bar for the willys background pic? Here is a pic of tracing out the styrene and a dry fit of the driver.

Yeah Kevin, I've done some crazy stuff when I was little. I care not to mention them in the public's view.

Painted brass rod tacked together with a little super glue. It's helpful to throw on a couple of clearcoats on as well as they all end up on their roof sooner or later a little brass is showing through on mine now. Kevin

Thanks for the tips. I did have some paper clips lying around and they will look nice. Here is what I've done recently. I filled the holes with jb weld, used a little spot putty for the trunks low spot, added a hood scoop and rear wing. Still more prep work before I put some primer on it. The first picture is my balsa wood block with a drawing of a hood scoop. I used this as reference as I shaped it.

Well, I figured it was only fitting to put this one on fire again. Seeing how someone had fun with it before I had it and lit it up themselves. Ahhhhh GOOD TIMES! First pic you can see where I have drawn some flames out on masking tape and then cut it out with a hobby knife. I cut the flames out on a cutting mat then transfered the tape over to the car, much easier than cutting the tape while it's on the car.
