Last pair in this round has the Hemi Hurricane of Derwood16 up against the Kdog's Black Willys pu. It's makes sense that in Florida a hurricane smacks around a pickup as Derwood takes the win with a stout .370 @ 22.28 mph over the Kdog's .5191 at 13.77 mph.

Semifinals up next with the Hemi Hurricane Willy's up against Fred Hurst red Willys. It's 440GTX vs. Derwood. Then we have Rapid Rick V's white 55 Chevy taking on the upstart red 66 Chevy II Nova of Tyler. You've either got Chevy's racing or the Willys'. (There's gotta be a opening for a comment there....)

In the tightest of holeshots it's Fred Hurst Willy's .3786 at 23.27 mph over a slightly quicker .3758 @ 22.35 mph. And no, we won't tell you who slighly slept. Let's just say he's now in the john throwing up...

The room gets quiet. Even the dog gets up to watch... No not you Kdog, my dog. The tree comes down and in one of the closest races of the evening... heck the year, it's a lossing .3755 @ a faster 23.43 to a so slightly quicker .3744 at 21.85 mph.
And the winner is... OH NO!! It's a Chevy! Kurses!! Just kidding Rick.. Congratulations and congratulations to 440 GTX for making both finals and winning one of them.

I would like to thank Frantic Frank who took pictures and cut some mean lights along with Brian who got here early and stayed late. (He starts work before 6 AM folks.) And of course Rapid Richard who stepped up to log the Gasser finals and cut mean lights when we started to have computer problems. Then there's the Demon. Without Tom we couldn't do this stuff. I mean, he makes prizes that are neat and custom, he takes my guff and especially when I let it out that he... just slightly slept (it was just slightly... there were many worse lights tonight, his just came at a bad time for one unlucky racer.) And I know Demon feels worse about that than all the c$@&p I mentioned about him in the john... Thanks Demon. Your cool. And that wraps up the 2010 Gator Nationals Lite. Good night.

Thanks for another great NTRA race! The Ohio-California Gasser War continues, shades of Stone-Woods-Cook and Big John Mazmanian vs. Ohio George and K.S. Pittman. Gotta love it when the final is decided by 11 ten-thousandths of a second!
Thanks to the WDWAHO crew and drivers for running a quick and clean race. And I hope the gators enjoyed their swamp rat and Ratt Rod snacks.
Next up for NTRA championship will be the season finale at Lions Drag Strip on October 16-17. Look for some special announcements from Lions. Be There!
Best, Rick V.
