Love your work hilltop, and the afx vette re-do. How did you get such a nice black trim line between the red and yellow. Please keep posting pics. V

Thanks Vman...the black stripe is decal paper. Take some "clear" decal paper, spray on your color, just enough to hide. I use lacquer base paints, dries quick and thin. After it dries take a "sharp" edge blade and trim out some stripes with a straight edge guide, dip in water and apply. I like to scuff the paint edge or any decal area with some 2000 to flatten the paint and give the decal something to bite into, just makes it lay/stick better, IMO...After drying, come back with some clear...RM

Thanks guys for the good words!!! JJ, As for body compound, I used a casting resin mix on the 56 to bond parts back together which is pretty cool stuff. Scuff up both surfaces, mix up a couple of drops of A & B, then add a drop or two of mix on to the area, let dry and the pieces will bond together. For a small pin hole or imperfection, spary a little Duplicolor high build primer in a cup, then brush/dot on the flaw area. You can also let the primer air dry a bit and it gets thicker, then apply. After throughly drying, come back and block sand. I've also used automotive bondo for larger projects plus the green and white Squadron putty's. JB Weld is good also, if you need something to flow, form a curve, round in/off a gap. You'll just have to try em and fit your needs as opinions vary. Hope this helps...RM

Being a longtime model builder I have several products that I prefer for filling small pin holes and other defects. I tend to use Gunze Mr. Surfacer 500 and Mr. Dissolved Putty. I use a toothpick to apply them. A lot easier to work with then putties and epoxies. A lot of people I know swear by Mr. Surfacer 1000 as a primer cost.

What are you using for wheels? They look great! Strictly for show or do they hold up well under power?
NICE WORK AS ALWAYS!

The wheels on the white 56 are Vincents, they usually run smooth and I've had no problems with them. For racing it's hard to beat the factory AFX wheels. The yellow/red Vette has aluminum wheels. I also use a lot of AW four Gear chassis and wheels. Hope this helps...RM
