Racers, Since we've reached the halfway point of the 2010 NTRA Championship Series, I want to nail down the dates and classes for the season finale at the reborn Lions Drag Strip. The Test 'n' Tune is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, September 11. Qualifying will be on Saturday, October 16 (National Boss Day, btw on my wall calendar) and eliminations on Sunday, October 17. We'll bookend the season with Nostalgia Pro Stock, but I'm open to suggestions on the second class. We had the best turnout of the year for Super Stock at PMS, so obviously that is a popular category. But we haven't run a Stock eliminator yet, and I think that could attract some new entries and shake up the final points standings since everyone will be starting at ground zero. Other guys like the fast classes . . . So I'm open to suggestions. I'll determine the voltage and track length after the classes are decided. I want the cars to have enough shutoff area to prevent anyone's car from being damaged by going hard into the "sand trap" at the Beach. Thanks, Rick V.

Not much response so far on suggestions for the second class to run at the NTRA season finale in October along with Nostalgia Pro Stock. Kdog and 440gtx have spoken up for the Stockers, but I haven't seen any other opinions.
There's been some discussion about changing the Stock tire/ballast rules from what's posted in the NTRA rules, but that's up to the rulemakers, so it's not my call. So speak up now if you have a strong preference for another class, otherwise it will be N/PS and Stock to close out the season.
Thanks, Rick V.

I think we should wait till next year to bring stock class in to our races. We need to build our car count in N/PS because we only had 11 cars in our first race this year. How about NTRA BB/FC to go with our N/PS cars for the last race at Ricks track. Rick you can put a towel at end of your track so the fast cars can go under it to stop them. I'm sure we are going to have to do that at Phils track for the Gassers & Rat Rods. Hey my cars are not show cars and I know they can get a little beat up. Hell I drop them on the floor all the time. Oh maybe thats Richards car I drop all the time. As far as SS rules we got time to think about them lets get our car count up in N/PS. DEMON

How do we get our N/PS car count up? Rick, Derwood and I all sent 2 cars each last time. What do we have to do to get more people to enter? I don't know.

I'll send two but that really doesn't gain anything because Rick will sit this one out as host. I like the stockers idea. My second choice would be Jet cars. Would JET TRUCKS be legal I got one of those.

If it's at Rick's track, legalize Hydrazine!

How about a match race at Rick's Phil? We began testing our new Rocket car this week, the first one didn't go so well. We will be sure to have all the bugs worked out before we send it down your track Rick.

I favor the Stock and Pro Stock class combination. Maybe throw in a few Super Stock gudge matches for an 'All Stock Classes' event. What ever is running, I'm in.

One thing discussed for Stock, was limiting bodies to only "Traditional T jet" sized bodies. I think most of you know what I mean. Between the original bodies by Aurora and Model Motoring, and the vast (but not cheap) selection from MEV T Jets, there are PLenty of bodies. Assuming for now of course, that we race Stockers this year. Anyhow, keep the conversation going, please.
My input on ballast is.............allow it...anything that makes cars more stable and consistent is a plus. Tires, Im open to consensus really, tho Im not the only final word. You guys pretty well know the overall NTRA goals, so your input is always welcome.
