I got a 22v powerpak for it and now the win lights aren't working correctly. The light on the right lane sometimes comes on when the car is at half track. Even if a car does a single run in the left lane, the right win light will come on. I changes batteries, cleaned and reassembled the track and it still does it. Could I have messed up a circuit with the powerpak? I'm really at a loss. It seems to do it more with certain cars. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

I had problems due to lightening in the room I set my track up. Start and finish tracks worked fine in the day time but not at night with the house lights on. Energy saver bulbs suck!! I discovered the problem after holding a torch above the sensors. Try the torch trick!

I did the same thing when I first got it. Wouldn't work, so I took it into another room and was fine. I went back and forth throughout the house before I realized the light sensor thing. I thought I had an electrical phenomenon going on, lol. It worked fine until today, it doesn't make any sense to me. Whats weird is that the light goes on well before the car passes the sensor.

you may have to solder some capacitors under the track near the sensors (start & finish) to clean up any interference. The noisier a car is or if it arcs at the shoe going down the track the greater the chance of a false trigger. Thats why it changes with different cars

I'm just now conecting the A.W. sensors to my micro comp. and can tell you that the track power is not tied to the electronics in any way. The 22v power pack may however cause a lot more emf noise that could trip a sensor.

Its the lighting in the thats the problem, I put 2 small led lamps nexts to the sensor and Iam running two 22v and my track is working fine. If the sensor don't see light it will not know when the car pass by and if its too dark the win light will stay on somtimes.

Or one simple i dea you can do it buy a cheap desk lamp and just shine it on the finish line where the sensors ,and that will work fine as well,Some 1/24 scale track has lamps mounted above the start and finish line for that very reason.

One of the options I spoke of earlier was that I could install Infrared LEDs in the bridge sections and tie them in to the aw battery power. With infrared you could race in the dark or any light. Heres an update: I went through the low light issues when I first set up the track, so I was sure that wasn't my problem. I got some new track in for a return lane and used the new track as the actual strip. Low and behold, I have not had any false lights since. Not sure what to make of it, but somehow it was the track that came with the set that was the problem. Thanks for the input, everyone!

Any more info on how to install and what lights to use/where to get them?

Hi Guys, Back form OKLA city where we met two nitro slot members, so in all there were four Nitros at the race. A new Nitro member asked slotman55 if he knew who mr.wizard was. Slotman said “yes he’s the guy sleeping in my truck”. I don’t do mornings well. This is a photo of a Blue LED. I used a blue LED so we can see the light beam on the track. This is what the infrared would look like if you could see it. I believe blue would work as well as IR. Honestly I like the look of the blue LED. I’m working on a diy of how to install leds to your track, got a lot on my plate. More when I can Mr. wizard

Mr. Wizard, did you use a LED on the starting, and finish line? Did you use one per lane, or just one centered between lanes?
