[glow=red,2,300] WOW![/glow] .940's is almost what my 4-gear with a mean green armature runs. I can't touch those times with a 14 ohm armature. My best pass here with a NF/C is a 1.03 something. Wood has definately brought the big guns. Grats on the track record Wood! Matt Believe it. The ace Lions tech crew checked Wood's arm during the engine swap to certify the track record: 14.8-14.7-14.7 at 75.4 degrees, unbalanced three-lam Johnny Lightning. It's for real! Rick V.

Thanks for the kind words Matt. I'd like to say that after my last crushing defeat from you I've been working like a dog in the test and tune department, but that's not true. when I started reading the times I seriously thought I had made some mistake and knew Rick would ohms check the arms only to find me a fraud! One of the only things I know I did was clean them and use a new lube that i use on my pine wood derby cars. Which I'll be more than happy to share with everyone after the eliminations.(insert smiley face here)

WOW! That's DEFINITELY a rocket! Hope my new car runs even CLOSE to that good !(have an 'original' Aurora arm that ohm's out at 14.1 on all 3 poles. One question Rick, obviously that 75 degrees is the 'timing' on the arm, right? How do you check that? That would probly help me out some in knowing how good my arms are. Ron (Bondo)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think it is ambient air temp. hot or cold will slightly change resistance. (ohms)

Ron (Bondo) 75 degrees was the temperature of the arm, shot with a remote-reading thermometer. Resistance is a function of temperature, so that same arm will read lower at a colder temp and higher at a warmer temp. At a national T-jet race like the Fray, the rules specify resistance at a given temperature (for example, 16.0 ohms at 70 degrees) with a standard reference arm. Hope this helps, Rick V.

Congratulations Wood!, on setting new track records.
I see you are entered for Chevy and Ford teams. I wonder which team will get the record setting set-up.
All in the lube, huh?

This is starting to remind me of a quote from Ronnie Sox.
"I went 10.14 on a 10.40 record with two different back tires, one Goodyear and one Firestone. I knew everyone would copy me and they did. It was unbelievable."
