I'm in - 2 rats and 1 stock. Couple of questions, one do we need numbers on cars(chassis) for match races? Second, I can understand why we're running the stock class on 13 volts. But did expect the rats to be higher. Is the reason for this because AW is selling their drag strip with this voltage or do most members use this voltage on their own tracks? We all spend whatever time we can trying to make our cars faster. This just seems like a kick in the backside to me. Don't wanna sound like I'm complaing, just was really surprised to see this. Maybe this is something that could be put into class rules? A voltage range for each class. Would eliminate all the guess work by everyone if there was voltages set per class. .....don't get me wrong, looking forward to my second NTRA race - PC

There are many arguments for running certain classes at various voltages. All of which are presented as valid reasons. But the validity of reasoning for high voltages can be equally countered with a comparable number of valid reasons for low voltages. For this reason I believe voltages are purposely left out of the rules. Equipment will vary from track to track just as materials used in building the track will vary. It is near impossible for the rules to dictate a perfect voltage not knowing anything about the track being used. The rules are in place to insure that everyone is working with the same components. Once submitted they are all compared on the same track and voltage. In the case of NTRA classes using 14 ohms or higher, it can be assumed that voltage will be set at 13v (13v-13.8v) unless explicitly stated for a specific event.

Ninja Put me down for one Rat Rod. Started one for Sam's race and never finished it. If anything I will get a little more done.

Ninja, Thanks for the info, 14 ohms or more equals 13.8v. Just need to find a 13v wall wart for tunning purposes. You didn't say anything about numbers for match races. Should I assume there are none? ..........TIA, PC
