My wife bought me an AW Drag Strip . The strip is way narrow and out of scale . Out of the box it's like drag racing on a county road .
I was thinking of laying 2 rows of track out for the strip . I can see making a cover for the middle two slots . The cover could be of pastic and painted black . This would put the strip into a more reasonable scale .
My question is : has anyone tried to seperate or expand the Christmas Tree starting track and finish line ? To make ot work , it would need to span the outside two lanes .
Any sugesstions would be appreciated .

I can't see why this wouldn't work! All you are doing is repositioning the sensors. Some wiring will be involved to extend the existing wiring to reach. With some clever modelling skills the AW Xmas tree could be made to sit on the track between the lanes for a more realistic look! You would be looking at the same amount of work as installing one of the timed systems that are available now!
