I'm going to throw this out there a little early. For those that may be looking for power supplies, I will be selling my existing (2) 30vdc / 10a switching power supplies in the next few weeks. I have purchased two new supplies and once I have them all hooked up I will post both in the Buy, Sell, Trade board with price and pictures. FYI............

Received two new 30v/20a power supplies for the track this weekend. My old ones are working fine but are 10a. I could not afford the 20a when I was building the track and started with one 10a and then added the second. Now I'm moving up again. I will be hooking them up and doing some testing this week and going forward till the Texas Nationals. I am looking forward to seeing the difference that they make. I'm not expecting a huge improvement, but it should be something that I can see on the hotter builds.

The Mach I Master has been prepped, clayed up, and is ready to pour the first half of the mold. I am trying to get the Stock version completed and have a few available to give away at the race, but the real goal is to start working on the Pro Mod version. I have a vision........

I started on my new 4g Unlimited build and I thought I might post about this aluminum top plate that I bought on Ebay. I had some concerns but so far those have all been answered. This top plate so far has exceeded my expectations. I've already dealt with the 3g aluminum plate and was equally as impressed with it. This is the way to go for 4g Unlimited. With a brass crown I think it will take whatever we put on it. I'm pretty excited to see how it performs. Not having to run the monster 20t crown allows me to have a multitude of smaller tire sizes to tune with now. Going all out on this one and see what we get??? It could be a turd .....or a rocket ship. I'm shooting for rocket ship. Not sure what body I'm going to run but the small tire also opens me up to something other than a dragster. This one will be running an Eagle Racing 2.5ohm motor with a little advanced timing, a 16t brass crown that I have been saving for this, aluminum top plate with all brass gears (Ebay), 10t motor pinion, 12t drive pinion. I am choosing to run the plastic 26t idler to lighten up the gear train a little. Those brass gears are heavy. That gear is not a problem. Going try some new stuff too.

Very cool looking stuff. Thanks for posting.
I'm trying to soak it all in. But at this age the sponge is over flowing from cleaning up the spills of life.

Looks good Jeff, I put the top plate on one of my 4Gs but the crown would not hold up so I detuned it so it would live.

I am just about ready for the first pass. I do not expect much on the ET for the first runs. There will be plenty of tweaking to get everything dialed in. I will post what I've done on my build beyond what I have already posted.

This is what $300 worth of casting product looks like with shipping. Dang!! Prices have gone up, but what else hasn't too. These are the one gallon kits along with 2 cans of Mold Release. Really good product though. I've tried others and Smooth On is the best IMHO. They have so many different varieties to suit whatever the need. Time to make it money well spent and get back to some molding and casting. I am currently working on two projects and have the '69 Mach 1 still in clay waiting to be molded. Haven't done a custom in awhile either. I'm way behind....... .

New project being molded......1953 Studebaker Pro Mod. This started out as a Humgrin Racing casting that I tweaked a little bit to fulfill a "vision" I had when I first saw it. Gale has given me permission to move forward with it. I will be making the mold this week. I have also completed the 1969 Mach I mold that I started awhile back. I will be working on the Pro Mod version of the Mustang and a widened V Gaines Dodge Pro Stock body next.

Jeff, I'm looking forward to seeing those cars done. Put me at the head of the line to get a couple of those bodies. Also I hope you entertain the thought of re-popping those early Aurora Funny Cars.

Will do WBJ. I will do the Funny Cars but I have to sacrifice the paint job to make the master. The Pinto needs a new paint job so that one is not a problem but the Cuda I'm not ready to do that with yet. I may have to find another Cuda body to customize for the master. They are getting hard and expensive to find. Thanks for the reminder. They both will make really good castings.

It seems nearly impossible to find one without crushed pillars.

Jeff, I'll keep an eye out for that Cuda body. We'll be going to the Bob Beers show here in a couple of months. Maybe I'll get lucky and pick up a body that you can use?
