An observation, It seems that the Nostalgia Funny Car class is a redo of the Stock 4 gear class that we ran in the Winter nationals, with the exception of the nostalgic body. Why not keep the Stock 4 gear class as is and make the Nostalgic Funny Cars just that- Nostalgic, by using standard older chassis ie: T-jet, ultra G and the like and allowing for shunts, braids, etc. and a 5 ohm arm. Just an observation. Keith

Realizing that time is quickly passing and T&T is coming upon us in three weeks. After some testing, weighing, and much discussion a compromise has been reached. Many concerns have been addressed and a more complete set of rules drawn up. Brush cups as was stated may not be a familiar concept with many racers and feel that it would be easier to not include them as a legal component for Top Fuel at this time. A revised chart is available for your review and comments. See chart at this link: www.ninjatekprojects.com/pdf/4g_2012_ClassRulesV2.pdfThe following voltage settings were determined for use at Summer Nationals: T/F@24 volts MFC@22volts DS@18volts

So Mean Green arms are ok in both the top fuel and modern funny cars?

Taz, that would be a yes. Any 'factory' arm ('factory' meaning no rewinds), 5.0 ohm (or higher, Mean Greens are 'listed' as 6.0 ohm altho there are some out there below that). Ron (Bondo)

No matter how you slice it, this is going to be an expensive race to participate in if you try to run all three classes. With the race being so close the rules look good, but I think they should be revisited afterwards. T/Fand M/FC seem awefully close to one another, just like Rat Rod and N/PS, and we ended up lumping those together because of it. One other thing to consider would be the races that are paired together, such as this one, D/S, M/FC, and TF. All basicly pro classes. Granted the next race is one for everybody, both beginner and the veterans, Muscle Car Shootout, but maybe we should consider running a sportsman class, with the pro classes. I realize it's up to the racemaster to choose the classes he wants to run, just throwing some food for thought out there.

Hey pceng, I have made a few and just finished a set of .585s. They are on the large hub AW 4gear wheel. I believe there is a how to on this site maybe under ninjas file at top of page under do it yourself or how to. You should know that making these it a real art, at least when I do it they come out very modern art looking ;D ;D Sometimes they are even kinda true That being said send two wheels and two axles and I will make you a set. If you like them you can decide what there worth.

The top fuel class do you have to have a wheelie bar and the shunts and briads? Also the modern funny car class is the wheelie bar that is on the body ok or do I have to make one?

Top Fuel class answer is no you do not have to have wheelie bar, shunts or braided pickup shoes. However the shoes will help you the most as they make full contact and elimnate tweaking pickups. The funny car class the wheelie bar that is on the body is fine.

Ques. on type A. States chassis cuts allowed, What does this refer to ? Is it lightening of the chassis ? If so are we limited to given areas of the chassis or is all fair game.
Weighed T/F as prept for race and got 29.1 grams, gotta loose 4g's just not sure where.

This coming race has minimun weight restrictions. 25 Is the number for the T/F. Has anyone gotten a T/F near this number ? In particular an AW T/F ? After seeing the weights for the upcoming race I re-did AW T/F body. Took it down to plastic and then thined what I could and removed what I thought was not needed. Chassis has some lightining. Body and chassis together weigh in at 26.5g's. I don't see anything left to get a gram and a half from. If anyone has any ideas on this please let me know.

Take the back wheels off. ;D ;D ;D Seriously I don't know what your using for rear wheels and tires, but you can cut some weight there by using sili-foams, the motor will rev quicker also with less mass to turn.
