Hey Gang, I am trying to get a car together for one of the upcoming races(possibly Texas) in the Doorslammer class. This is one of the novas that Sam was kind enough to send my way. I added the tail fins and I call it a 57 Chevy II. Still got a lot I want to do to it as far as detail. I noticed the rules say factory hood scoop(does this include the cowl induction hood that is already on it,or do I have to add a motor/scoop/or injectors)? Also do I have to add the flat pro stock style wing on the rear of the trunk? Hope to race with yall soon....still recovering from the open heart surgery I had on the 24th of April,but feelin better. Vman that is one sweet ride!!!I'm not sure but I think a Pro Stock scoop or Super Charger is needed for Doorslammer class and I believe it will only add to the awesome look of that killer Nova.

Hood Ornaments: Must have at least a factory hood scoop. Injectors, Pro Style Hood Scoops, Turbos are encouraged but not necessary.
Air Spoil: Must have at least a factory rear deck spoiler. Pro Stock Style, Pro Mod Style and detached wings are encouraged but not necessary to compete.Based on the wording of the rules, the setup you have will work. For hood ornament a factory hood is needed at a minimum. You have that. Air Spoil also calls for a factory component as a minimum. However, for this model year car I do not believe a factory air spoiler was available. Third party components certainly became available at some point, but not factory issued for this model car. As the rule states 'not necessary to compete'. The intent is to have the cars appearance suited for the class. I think you have accomplished the look and satisfy the rules intentions. Nice looking car! |

Vman, That Chevy is really sweet. You are on the right track, for sure. A hood scoop or blown motor and some wheely bars, and there ya go. Can't wait to race with you.

Looking GOOD ! I'd be scared to start adding to it. Will fly as Doorslammer, hope to see it at July's race.Switched from computer to 30" TV, WOW !!! (only way for me to see all the colors).
