Jeez guys....really!! Gimme a break please. We are talking about painting an HO body here. If your painting a real car with the insanely flammable paints they use....yea I can understand the concern. But doesn't apply here. I've been using this setup for over a year and there is plenty of fresh air being pulled in to dilute any fumes that are accumulating. Talk about the voice of DOOM Jeeeeez!!

JJ That setup looks sweet, the Dog loves to see guys that can make things work with what you have, just goes to show watching MacGyver back in the 80s worked, work in a shoe lace, or chewing gum and we are there. GOOD JOB that is all you need. DOG

Very cool Jeff wish I had a fancy setup like that. As you know I use a shop vac with a hole in the bottom of a shoe box. The side is cut out and I use a back stop to keep paint off my desk. It has worked for me for oh 17 years. Not the same vac, I have had the motor burn up on two. They do stink when that happens. I'm know electronic, electrical slot car genius like some of our members. I just use what works for me.

Voice of BOOM.....now that's funny Peter  . Thanks Kevin....I feel like Macgyver sometimes. A lot of things are just overpriced for what they are. This was one of those things. One other thing this has done for me is I am painting in a conditioned space now not in a too hot or too cold garage. The paints react better to the better temp and humidity levels. I am still in my infancy with the airbrush, so every little bit helps. Thanks also Robert. I've seen your setup and the results you get from it. It works very well!! My idea started with your method. I do the same thing you do and work with what I have. I know where you can get a paint booth just like mine......real cheap....lol.

JJ I love the paint booth, I use a window fan on exhaust right now but after seeing your setup things are going to change. I'll be making my own hillbilly paint booth hopefully tonight.

JJ, great innovation. I have all those components and still haven't assembled them. still painting in front of a large window can. LOL one improvement, if I may(in case I didn't see that you already have this, pardon), heater filter or similar in front of fan. something for the airborne paint to collect on rather than the fan and exhaust tube.

That is a good idea Al. I can just put some filter media over the opening in the box. It will help protect the duct and the motor there. Thanks.

How does a disposable CA fine tip applicator sound ? Adjustable to fit tight spaces. Body posts glued without removing chassis. Other such stuff. Hit me while I was putting ca on stack I just wound. So I tried it........ Picked up six inch piece of scrap wire. Doubled twice. Put straight pin through 2 loops at one end. Then spun ends in opposite direction to make rigid, and remove pin. Resulting small loops will hold small drop of CA. More often than not I use a toothpick to apply glue. But if I had thought of this last week, mounting a body would have been done in seconds. Instead it took 20 minutes of CA running down toothpick. Works pretty good.
