Econo Dragster rules say any gears (R/A). What was the intention here ? Are we talking crown gears ? Or, can we play with plate gesrs ? First thing that came to mind was a 14/24 brass arrangement. But figured I better ask. Or would no chassis cuts cover this ? ............................. Peter

Supposed to be same as NF/C and I believe that is crown gear only.

Was thinking the same, Jeff. But any tire/wheel, gears, braids, shunts, springs, brushes........... sounds like a do something build.
Just want to make sure I'm not looking for what I can do that it dosen't say I can't................ lol. Old habbits............. ........... Peter

I understand and I always seem to be corrected when it comes to rules. That was what Sam sent in a PM when Cordell was setting up race schedule for 2014. He basically said same rules as NF/C with those exceptions. I went back and looked before posting, but I look forward to the answer as well. Better to be safe than sorry.

Same boat as you, Jeff. Want to be on the safe side. Would like to.know the difference between gear arrangements on the plate though. Have you, or perhaps someone else done a comparison of stock.vs. a 14/24 hybrid ? Mmmmm .......... lol, could be worth a DQ to find out, stock class is it ......... hmmm. Na, I'll behave....... Was thinking only difference was the tire/wheel. Lot.of.exceptions, as you put it. First time I've looked at rules for this, did not expect to see as much as is there. ................ Peter

crown gear/pinion would be the only ones and no cutting on the chassis/top plate.

crown gear/pinion would be the only ones and no cutting on the chassis/top plate. Hey Sam, would the lower gear of cluster be considered the pinion ? Also, the no cutting. Is that on the plate, or either chassis or plate ? Sorry about all the questions. Not looking for loop-holes, just how to go faster. ............................. thanks, Peter

crown gear/pinion would be the only ones and no cutting on the chassis/top plate. Thanks Sam. That's what I was thinking. I am looking forward to running that class. I have an Eagle Racing wedge dragster that I have had for awhile I am going to use. Also cool that the pinion can be changed.

Just finished re-painting first FED body. Using stock chassis from Legends 40.- Hobby Lobby special (big flop as N/FC). See what an overhaul will do. Polished comm last night. Hadn't touched since coming back from race. Opened chassis up and comm looked like a checker-board. Once plating was gone waffling disappeared. Was the worst case of waffling, I've ever seen. Top plate has round marks with plastic sticking up (spur marks maybe). Chassis has, Round 2, 2008, Made in China on bottem.
Assuming these projections being removed won't count as cutting. Have been seeing clearancing used in reference to chassis used in several classes. What is clearancing refering to ?
Been looking at schedule, pulling out cars that have not run for awhile. Got some work to do Rat & N/ps chassis are green, pretty green but thick ! Gonna have to break them down totally and clean everything. First comes ED............. .............. PETER
