Anybody tried the Max Trax drag track. It seems to be made for 1/64th scale as the 1/4 mile powered section is 20 feet. I tried to contact them via E mail but the address does not work. I was interested in a 15' 2" powered track, or actual HO scale 1/4, but was unable to contact them.

Don't know if Slot Dragon timming will work because of track width.......... sensors for timming could always be moved..........

Dave, To my understanding MT went under a few years back.
You may want to give TKO a try. I had one built to my specs about 3 years ago. Very pleased with it and I thought the price was reasonable for a built to order track.
I would not pay attention to a lot of BAD postings on TKO. He had issues at first when he first started up. He got covered up with orders and it took him a while to get a handle on running a business. I ordered my track and had it 6 weeks later.
Regards,
Alan @ R&D Racing

Thanks for the reply's To my surprise the message did get thru.
Here is the response posted today:
It will not come out exactly as you ask due to the pieces having standard lengths, but this is close:
Start with the 16.5' eighth-mile drag strip described on the website. By purchasing additional pieces, 1 x 36" and 1x18", you'd have just over 17' under power which includes the burnout area, and then 46" of shutdown. With the standard piece lengths, the only other close option for shutdown eliminates the extra 18" piece but leaves just 28" shutdown.
Here is the price breakdown:
16.5 foot track: $240.00 36" extra piece: 50.40 18" extra piece: 25.70 Shipping/handling: 49.00 Grand total: $365.10
If you're interested, there is also a short shutdown featuring neo-magnets embedded in the track that also eliminates the need for the extra 18" piece, but it costs an extra $150.00.
We accept payment by check or money order to:
Max Trax Racing 27 Cowance St Cortland, NY 13045 They also accept Pay Pal

Thanks for the info , Dave632............ if room is a consideration you could do without the burnout area and use track for runoff............ think all tracks we race at utilize some sort of catch box or apparatus for safety reasons............ could be just a pillow laying on track.........
Length of timed area is your choice, I think. Placement of photo cells for timming determines this........... if you use a timming system where photo-cells are placed in track then length is your choice........ unless maybe they are factory installed.......... do not think slot dragon will work with this track, could be wrong.......... ............. I have owned a Maxtrax 4'x10' road / oval for 10 years or so with no issues (I keep it covered when not in use to guard for oxidation on rails) cleans up great with 409 witch is what they recommend. Just ordered my new drag strip from them can't wait to get started. On that subject I will be looking to sell my Slot Cars Inc track for $125 shipping included. It's 20' with 15'-2" timed. It has been wired for dynamic braking on the shutdown the 1/8" holes for sensors are drilled. Send me a PM if interested.

I plan to install my own photocells in the track.. The ones in the slot dragon are super glued in so I will need new photo cells. I will have to contact Daniel to find out what the ratings on the photo cells are. Incidentally Max Trax said they can get drag strips out for delivery within 2 weeks.

Hey Dave welcome to Nitroslots. I had a sensor failure last year right before one of my races and contacted Daniel. Below is the info. that he gave me. I ordered some and replaced the bad one. Everything worked fine. Digikey was very easy to work with as well. Hope this helps. Jeff You can order the Eyes from a place in MN. www.digikey.com Part number: 475-1443-ND Discription: Phototransister NPN 780NM 3mm They will cost approx $0.35 each. They are directional but if you install backwards, no harm done just turn it around.
