Trackmate 3000HO arrived today. Going to take some work to install the system as it has 16 IR detectors that have to be installed. Should have it up and running some time next week.

Reading the instructions for the Trackmate and found some good features. The time between the yellow and the green is adjustable. I can red light every time with the standard .4 second reaction time with an HO car. My normal reaction time with an HO slot car is in the .2 second range. Trackmate states that an HO race car can react and leave the beam in the .01 second range. I can now set the time down to .2 and stop red lighting. Hope to have this setup up and running by the end of the week. There are some very good data logging features too.

System up and running. Had a lot of trouble getting the software to work. Tried 3 different computers with various problems. Even this one gives a run time error when first started. Instructions are not the greatest either. Had to call to find out that the password was not needed to start system when it is asked for, just hit OK, why ask for a password then? Color codes are not right for the 60' & 1/8th mile either. Had to use the test mode to figure out what was what. Lots of work to set up. Also needs strong light over each sensor. Times shown are for a couple of T jets and some G + cars. Track finish was extended to 15' 7.5 ". Last pix is of the win lights at the end of the track.

looking good. Go to settings and hit the display/print box. At the bottom, it will allow you to change decimal points to 4 to display 10 thousands.

I thought I had set it to 10 thousands. I will go to that setting and check it out. Getting a tie with time shown out to .0000 would be amazing. I had 2 ties with the slot dragon. I am not familiar with the Trik Trax Drag system, good luck getting it going, I am sure you will work it out. Even with an instruction book the Track mate hookup was not a walk in the park. The slot dragon is an excellent system and I had no trouble with mine. Even with the limited runs I have on the Track mate system it is already indicating where some cars are picking up or losing ET. MPH which can be hard to judge is handy. Already several cars have registered higher trap speeds and lost the ET battle.

Red light with the .200 pro tree setting. Did not think it was possible. That means if I used the .400 pro tree I would have red lit by more than .2 seconds.

lol, It's possible. Our local group prefers the .200 light, I've mastered the red light . Have you gone into "preference" and tried the auto start? very convenient for practicing.

Dug these out of the archives. Here are a few close ones on a DP2000 system at PSD and a tie!!! Track mate picks the winner off of the quicker E/T

I have not tried the auto start yet. Still learning all the features this setup has. I installed a new track lighting setup right over the track as I was getting some erroneous 60' and speeds. The new lighting cured all problems. Sure looks like elapsed is spelled wrong there. Have to check mine to see if it's the same way. What are you running to get ETs and MPH like that? My full size mountain motor pro mod car could only hit about 45 mph in 60'. That makes it look sick. The other question is how do you have a 2 second 60 foot time and a sub .4 ET?

ok, I will not say anything Al Dave, That system didn't have the 60' sensors, not sure how it comes up with #'s. These are Super G MM/PS cars ran at 27 volts. I did some testing this morning getting ready for our local series at Drag City USA starting next month and was pleased with how my car ran. I had a quicker 60' time before this but slower E/T so I think I'm hopping a little at the hit. Very pleased with the MPH.

That would explain the 60'. Excellent times. I have never run anywhere near that voltage. Of course being a speed nut I will probably give that a try, traction will probably be a problem, along with broken parts. I have to improve the stopping ability at the end of the track. I added 6 60 watt track lites about 1' above the track and that cured any erroneous times. System works great but when first turned on I get a run time error on the computer and have to turn the program on several times.

Have the sound system working now. Announces ET, MPH, driver name and other items if you want. Only thing it does not have is a draw sheet, that would make it complete.

Interesting race on my track. Car on the left did everything better than the car on the right but still lost due to a slightly slower reaction time. Margin of victory at the finish, very close 11 ten thousands. Sure could not see that difference by eye. System still has startup problem, error 380. Takes 5-6 minutes to start up showing that error, then runs OK.
