Thanks for all the replies fellas. I'm having a blast! I've been thinking about the decal thing and whether I could make some extra cash from it, to offset the money I'm spending on the hobby, but right now I only have a ink jet printer and that won't cut it. There are so many things I want to do but there not enough time. SKR, I'm gonna have to stop posting till Monday because of a busy weekend. But I can't wait to get back in lab.

Ok, Here is another on the chopping block. Dodge Omni FC. I'm making some changes so that this car will eventually be the Don Prudomme Pepsi Challenger. Bigger wheelwells, changing the rear spoiler and putting in a new B-pillars and removing the Plymouth arrow rear vents. I found the decals so this one should be fun.

I couldn't resist doing this Plymouth arrow but the decals aren't up to the task. with no white backing they just disappear on a dark background.

Slammed my blue max and the cool thing is that it sits like they did back in the day, with the rear end up in the air. Still runs great too.

I got the same problem when making decals...the ink is just too transparent for darker colors... Cool looking body though!!! Much better on Max!!! RM

These are some great projects that you have going Steve. I am enjoying seeing each one and the build progression on them. I am still learning on the decals myself and I typically do my own decals. So far I am keeping things simple, but am ready to start stepping it up. If you are printing your own, you can use white decal paper instead of clear. That presents a whole new set of problems though. First they have to be cut out. Depending on the decal that can be easy or difficult. Then there is an unsightly white edge of the decal paper that shows up. Other than that they look great. I am learning of ways to deal with that now. You may already know all of this. Youtube is an awesome resource for info. as well if you haven't looked there.

Thanks Steve!!! Was able to take an early retirement from Roadway Express. I was a qualified package handler, trailer jockey, forklift operator, truck driver, etc. lol Back to decals... If you have a drawing program you can create a black outline for white paper decals... I use one of those Testor's Decal kit. Once you have your image up, you can outline with a black line. Once you have everything lined up, save your black outline, now print your decal on your white paper. Trim it out on the inside of the black line. Place it on your car, let it dry. Now open the black outline you saved, print it on clear paper. Now take and apply the clear on top of the white and the black outline should hide the white paper edge... The Snap-on logo was printed on white paper, then I came back with the clear black border to hide the white edge paper. Same as with the Hilltop, I tinted the background color to silver with the Testor's kit, then came back with a the black border... It's a lot of work, but I don't like the white edge showing in most cases, but lately I have been letting the white edge work for me. Just print out your decal and trim leaving a thin white line, actually looks like part of the logo in some cases...These are macro shots, so you see more than normal...RM

Made some more changes to the mustang. At this point all the louvers are gone, as Ive done my research the real cars moved away from those along with the side window louvers. BTW Hilltop, this is a Hairy Canary body so I don't think he's be happy if I was making these.
