That is awesome stuff! I bet you have many meories to share with gang here! I love this era of funnycar. Pretty much anything goes and run what ya brung! I think NHRA may have missed the boat somewhere when all these cars became homogenized, into one repeated Gumby style body. I wonder how much 10,000 dollars was in 1965. Sounds astronomical!

By the way, notice the unusual configuration of the Phony Pony. The driver is out back, like a fule altered coupe, and no supercharger. NHRA later codified, that all cars were to have a supercharge scoop protruding thru the hood and glass. Also the unique air scoop arrangement (the open grille) is banned as well. (no air tunneling devices.) No wonder we cant tell the cars apart these days. Thank goodness for graphics!

WOW SWEET VWs I have a couple VW Pickup resin bodys They would make equally cool Wheelie trucks ! Now I have more Wheelie projects than I can handle !
