RACE FORMAT AND SCHEDULE
Welcome to the 2017 Bear Creek Dragway Ultimate Team Challenge. We are in early summer here in North Texas and temperatures are in the mid to lower 90 deg. Track temp will be around 85 deg for the duration of the race. This will be the projected racing schedule and format for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Cars are qualified by running 1 run in each lane and taking the best time of the two. We will check cars, pick ups for cleaning and contact, and clean tires before each run. We only oil as needed. Any special instructions supercede our normal procedures. Thursday's schedule: Manufacture Challenge cars will be qualified in the morning followed by team eliminations. *See following post for further details* Time permitting 1st round Call Outs of Pro Street Outlaw and Four Gear Outlaw will be run. Friday's schedule: Recap of Friday's racing activities. Kiwi Challenge begins. Match ups will be best 2 out of 3. Each Match win counts as 1 pt for the team. Team with most points wins. **There will be no ties** Ties will be decided in a run off between the two fastest cars on each team. 2nd round Call Outs for Pro Street Outlaw and Four Gear Outlaws will follow. Saturday's schedule: Any eliminations that have not been concluded due to running long on time will be completed followed by closing comments. That's about it. Thanks for sending your cars. Track records are up for grabs this weekend and should fall on this fast Max Trax surface. We've got some work to do now. The track is in great shape. Lanes are running even, so there is no advantage either way. Anyway..........no more chit chat........let's get this thing going. Good luck to all the racers this weekend!!!

Manufacturers Team Challenge
- Stock Inline as per NTRA rules nitroslots.com/page/ntra-rules ⦁ no braids or shunts ⦁ no sili foam tires ⦁ 22 gram minimum ⦁ 20v race voltage - American Musclecar type bodies preferred but not required
Car manufacturers to be represented are:
Ford Chevrolet Chrysler Independents (Pontiac, AMC, all others)
Qualifying The (5) fastest qualifiers representing each of the manufacturers will qualify for each team. There will be one extra car since we had 21 entries. *No open competition for cars that did not make the team will take place as previously stated on Sign Up post*
If a manufacturer team does not have the 5 entries, then any open spots will be filled by the fastest qualifier from another manufacturer that is not already on a team. The Independent Team is short (3) cars. I will be taking the fastest (3) cars from the other manufacturers that did not make their team to help represent the Independent Manuf.
Team Eliminations Three rounds will be run. Each team will race every other team once during each round. Cars will be matched up #1 vs #1, #2 vs #2, and so on. One point will be awarded for each race win and the team with the most points at the end of three rounds will be The Manufacturers Champion. Ties will go to the team with the quickest ET in eliminations, followed by the fastest MPH.
That is pretty much it for the Manufacturers Challenge. I personally have not run a race like this before, so it should be fun. My first race with Nitroslots was a Manufacturers Challenge run by Rick Voeglin at Lions Drag Strip in 2011. It was a blast and is the reason I am still here today. All credit goes to Rick for this format. I have made a few subtle changes but it is unchanged for the most part.

Well.........we are back. I know that most members are working today, but I still hate having long delays like that without posting. Anybody who has run a race knows that everything works great till race day. During qualifying it seemed like one lane was running faster so I stopped to do some checking and that slowed progress. Everything seems to be ok though. I think it was just coincidence, but I wanted to make sure.
Qualifying is complete and Teams have been divided up. As I posted earlier this morning, the Independent Team is short on entries. This is what was done. Several racers sent two cars that were racing on the same team. I split those cars up placing the fastest on the team of choice and the other car went to support the Independent Team. I was one of those that had two Ford entries. I have pulled my second car (Pantera .6317et) out of the race so that all who sent cars will race in the event. The other racers were Dave632 (Chevy), Hilltop (Chevy), and Woodcote (Ford). I believe this is still fair and will also help make things more competitive. The Chrysler Team is the only team running double racer entries due to only 5 cars were entered. The Chevy Team is still stacked and they have good reason to be confident. Anyway......we are running it this way......so let's see how it goes.
Here are the teams as they stand right now. Chevy front row, Ford second, Chrysler third, and Independent four.Chevy Team 1) Dave632 Camaro red .6078et 2) Hilltop Monte Carlo blu .6643et 3) Ecbill Z28 Camaro org .6948et 4) Nosubfor3 Corvette rd/blk .7649et 5) Rider Grand Sport Corvette blk .9983et

Chrysler Team 1) Eagle Racing Charger sil .7434et 2) Hairy Canary Yellow car .7731et 3) Kiwidave Challenger wht .7749et 4) Hairy Canary Superbird yel .9324et 5) Eagle Racing RAM truck rd 1.0183et

The Chevy Team is definitely a force to be reckoned with this weekend. They had a right to be confident before the race. But as we all know....anything can happen in racing. That's why we run'em down the track. So let's see how things turn out.......
Chevrolet vs Ford Round 1
Race 1 Chevy #1 Dave632 Camaro vs Ford #1 JJ Torino. Both of these cars are running strong today. The Camaro and the driver are spot on today and take this one from the hit....to the traps. JJ's driver was making a sandwich. shhhhh sleeping..... Dave draws first blood .5966et to JJ's losing .6369et.
Race 2 Chevy #2 Hilltop Monte Carlo vs Ford #2 Sandfly GT40. Sandfly is a little under powered against the Monte Carlo. He needs to get out first and hope the Chevy breaks them loose. He gets his first wish and trees Hilltop but the big block bowtie catches him by 60' and shows him his tail lights. Hilltop .6718et to Sandfly .7430et.
Race 3 Chevy #3 Ecbill Z28 vs Ford #3 Ham1200 Escort. Like I said....the Chevy's are strong today. This is another one that the Ford needs something to happen to get the win. Ham1200 did all he could do and gets the holeshot, but the Z28 launches hard and makes a solid pass to take the win and earn Team Chevy another point. That's 3pts to 0pts for those that are counting. Ecbill ..6892et to Ham1200 .7871et
Race 4 Chevy #4 Nosubfor3 Corvette vs Ford #4 Kiwidave Mustang. Here are a couple of classic Chevy vs Ford cars. These two are a little more closely matched. The Corvette ran close to his qualifying number while the Mustang slowed slightly. Win and another point to the Chevy Team. Cold this be a sweep of the Ford Team?? Yikes....
Race 5 Chevy #5 Rider '63 Corvette vs Ford #5 Woodcote Capri. This is Ford's last chance to take a win. On paper this one should go to Chevy.......on paper. Let's see what it looks like on concrete. Rider and the Corvette launch hard and get out first, but that Dagenham car is fast and pulls along side as they pass the 60' block. It's all Ford from there as the Corvette falls off the pace and stutters across the line. Woodcote .7878et to Riders 1.0718et.
This series end Chevy 4pts. Ford 1pts.

The Chrysler vs Independent Teams are a little more evenly matched, but the Independent Team with the support of the Chevy and Ford cars is actually the stronger of the two. Once again....on paper.
Chrysler vs Independent Round 1
Race 1 Chrysler #1 Eagle Charger vs Independent *Dave632 Nomad. The Nomad is a Beast and the Independents are happy for Dave's help. Both cars slowed slightly from qualifying, but the Nomad wins over the Charger by 4 cars. Dave632 .6317et to Eagle .7750et.
Race 2 Chrysler #2 Hairy Canary vs Independent #2 Nosub Trans Am. Nosub breaks a motor mount during the burnout and Hairy Canary being, the good sportsman that he is, backs up and allows them to make the repair while Race #3 goes through. When they do line back up the Trans Am says thank you by leading start to finish. Mopar betters his qualifying time but it's still not enough. Nosubfor3 .6826et to Hairy Canary .7552et. Nosub was seen shaking HC's hand at the end of the track.
Race 3 Chrysler #3 Kiwidave Challenger vs Independent #3 Mustang Paul Supra. This was the best race of the day so far. WM .0061. These cars are evenly matched and it showed as the Challenger gets the holeshot and is barely able to hold off the hard charging Supra. You know those things eat on the big end. Kiwidave .7749et to Mustang Paul .7502et.
Race 4 Chrysler #4 Hairy Canary Superbird ve Independent #4 *Hilltop '56 Delivery. Hairy Canary can only hope for a miracle because he is out muscled here. He gets repaid for his sportsmanship from earlier. He gets the holeshot and the Chevy Delivery deslots. Win to the Chrysler Team. They go nuts at the start line. The Superbird is really struggling today. Hairy Canary .1.0617et to Hilltop deslot.
Race 5 Chrysler #5 Eagle RAM truck vs Independent #5 Woodcote Dagenham Escort. The truck struggled throughout qualifying with a bad vibration. they found a problem with a front tire and hope those issues are repaired. The Mopar leaves on the Escort but hazes the tires at about '60. That let's the Escort go by. Eagle pedals it and starts reeling in Woodcote but not enough real estate to get it done. Woodcote gets the win and another point for the Independent Team. Woodcote .8325et to Eagle .8507et.
This series ends Chrysler 2pts. Independent 3pts.

Round 2 Chevy vs Chrysler
Race 1 #1 Chevy Dave632 Camaro vs #1 Chrysler Eagle Charger. Dave's driver is sleeping this time, but the big block Chevy gets up on the tire to catch the Charger by the 60' marker and never looks back. Dave632 .6110et to Eagle .7634et.
Race 2 #2 Chevy Hilltop Monte Carlo vs #2 Chrysler Hairy Canary Stealth. Monte Carlo takes it wire to wire but slows slightly. The Stealth seems to have smoothed out a bit and is running consistent numbers. Hilltop .6907et to Hairy Canary .7775et.
Race 3 #3 Chevy Ecbill Z28 vs #3 Chrysler Kiwidave Challenger. They leave the line tied together. The Mopar has the Chevy to the 1/8 mile and the Z28 drives around and turns on the win light. What a great race! Ecbill .7141et to Kiwidave .7386et.
Race 4 #4 Chevy Nosub Corvette vs #4 Chrysler Hairy Canary Superbird. The Superbird trees the Vette. The Corvette seems to be slowing slightly, but still catches the 'Bird and puts him away. Nosubfor3 .8053et to Hairy Canary .9215et.
Race 5 #5 Chevy Rider Corvette vs #5 Chrysler Eagle RAM truck. Another great race and the reason we have to run'em down the track. Rider needs a huge holeshot to say the least and he gets it, but the truck is there. Then the Mopar hesitates to the 60' mark before gathering it up again. The Vette is too far gone at that point for the truck to catch him. The Vette improves drastically and the truck also betters it's time. Rider holeshot win .8121et to Eagle .8006et.
The Chevy's took every race in this match up. Chevy 5pts. Chrysler 0pts.

Ford vs Independent
Race 1 Ford #1 JJWallace Torino vs Independent #1 Dave632 Nomad. JJ is hoping for some redemption from the Round 1 beat down from Dave's Camaro. The Ford leaves first by .01. The Chevy gets it right back and holds the lead till 60' from the finish and the Torino streaks by for the win. Nomads mph was off for that run??? JJWallace .6158et to Dave632 .6287et.
Race 2 Ford #2 Sandfly GT40 vs Independent #2 Nosub Trans Am. The TA jumps out to a 3 car length lead and holds it all the way through the traps. Both make good runs but the Pontiac gets it today. Nosubfor3 .6808et to Sandfly .7333et.
Race 3 Ford #3 Ham1200 vs Independent #3 Mustang Paul. They are glued together at the hit.....but like I said earlier.....Supra's eat on the big end. If they are close at the 660', you're in trouble. The Escort was laying it down but Paul pulls away for a decisive win. Mustang Paul .7089et to Ham1200 .7548et.
Race 4 Ford #4 Kiwidave Mustang vs Independent #4 Hilltop '56 Delivery. WOW....WOW....WOW!! Best race of the day! Both of these cars improved on their et's and were tied together the entire length of the track. WM .0036. The '56 Delivery delivers the win. Hilltop .7703et to Kiwidave .7709et.
Race 5 Ford #5 Woodcote Capri vs Independent #5 Woodcote Escort. Teammates going at it. The Escort flat out trees the Capri and pulls out to 2 lengths. The Capri driver pedals it and the chase is on to the 1/8 mile and it's all over from there. The Capri gets it done for the Ford Team. Woodcote Capri .7902et to Woodcote Escort .8365et.
Ford 2pts. Independent 3pts.
