Wow, testing the Arduino Mega for sensor communication went really well and quickly. Being an old guy at 68, I kinda get a little nervous about newer tech stuff. First experience with an Arduino and it was exceptionally easy to get going and test out. Took about a half hour, LOL. Things are lookin' up

I didn't run any wiring or install the sensors, just tested. And with the Drag RC software, I'll only have start, 60 foot and finish. Well now, I got the track mounted this afternoon! It is getting exciting now. It came out pretty straight and flat. Not perfect but good enough for this 'ol boy . A couple cars I'm working on for Smokey Mountain. Shows the size relationship, which once again, I think will be just fine. Plenty of width with the 6 inches I think. I might be layin' some cable tomorrow . I'll probably lay one lane without glue and test it out with a couple runs. Gettin' anxious!!

It is hard to beat track tuning with ETs and MPH.

Laid down one lane with cable, no glue, just a test. Got my cars back from Jeff today so did a short little video of the 57' Chevy trying out the new track. Thought some might get a kick out of it. Please excuse the poor quality video and there is sound so you can hear the hum of the power supply in the back ground lol. Here's the link Still really excited, although wiring and some other misc. stuff won't be here till later in the week.

Thanks ALL, for the comments and encouragement! I'm pretty embarrassed by the obnoxious hum of the power supply in the video. I apologize. I was in a hurry to get it posted and didn't pay any attention to it. The main reason I wanted to do the test is because there had been some question about the noise of the shoes running on the cable (via PM). I didn't have a clue, so wanted to see how intense it was going to be. With that being said, I will be doing another test video. I'll be getting the power supply further away and try to isolate it's hum with some foam panels. Hopefully that will give a better representation of the cable sound. I appreciate everyone's patience on this matter. Thanks, Gale

Power supply sounds like lamination buzz??? I remember some power supply transformers being mounted on rubber mounts to quiet them down but your solution should help.
