I have a couple of 20t predator gears that I have used successfully in my PSO builds. The mesh is much better than the stock gear so I think it will work...better. Any plastic will be short lived though. I had a few of Eagle's preliminary brass castings, but they were just unuseable...bummer. If a car can be built that can survive testing and race rounds in it before failure, that's all we need. Sounds good anyway.....lol. I'm also thinking that maybe something larger than the tiny 9t (I think) lower cluster gear would be easier on the crown (fewer rpm's. Maybe 12t?? I know that's not a cure all. Any thoughts on that? I cannot figure how to get a 20T gear into the T Jet or AFX chassis. It hits the rear magnet which would have to be cut and I don't know if it will clear the top plate. I did get one of Eagles brass gears and I was able to make it work. It is in the Frankenstein Mustang and it has survived a lot of runs. I did have to do some filing to get it to work.

This 20t predator is much smaller diameter than that 20t silicon bronze one. That thing is a monster and wont fit. I found the predator gear on the Wizzard site. It fits in the AFX chassis, but just barely. I'm not sure yet if it's going to fit in the Tjet, but I will give it a try. It has a finer tooth pitch than the stocker and meshes with the cluster gear much better.

It's been a long time since I've done anything related to slot cars. Al Pink is correct most of my inventory went to Jim Sgrig and the plastic gears will not hold up, even the delrin. I actually manufactured some from delrin and aluminum and we eventually ended up just making them out of silicon bronze for the strength it offers. I did come across some blems. Tooth end is fine but may be a little narrow and need extra shimming.

The stock 19 tooth AFX gear that came in the Super II measures .335 or so. How did you cram a Predator 20 tooth gear in your PSO? ? The smallest diameter is .380.

the roubdy guy, like FRAY, run rear tires that are in the .360's. therefore the crown gear has to be smaller. ask Cheryl at WIZZARD about small diameter crowns. tell her alpink sent you. LOL
