My cars are on the way over today. The t-jet that I have built is a resin body that I got several years ago from a friend in Germany. I don’t think it will be very fast but as we are using street cars it was a chance to build something different this time.

Classis are filling up nicely. Still plenty of time to get some cars ready. Mine are still erratic but ready to go. Am letting them sit for several days then I am going to check them again and see how they do after sitting for awhile. Some times they come out screaming and other times they lay down and go to sleep. Welcome to my world these days. I seem to have lost some speed and consistency, but that's with pretty much all of my builds . Yes we do have a full field of cars in both classes! I am always thankful for that. It is shaping up to be another great event.

I don't know why my T jets and AFX stockers are running almost identical times but that's what they are doing. Going to test right now with no warm up and then warm up for 10-15 seconds each, then post the difference. Cars have sat about a day or two. First run cold with no warm up then with a 15 second warm up before each run. Both T jets slowed after warm up The 67 was down by .08 with an increase in MPH of .3 and the 69 Camaro only lost .01 with a loss in MPH of .8. After warmup the AFX green 57 Chevy picked up .04 with a MPH pickup of .6 while the Challenger lost about .02 with a MPH drop of .2. I cleaned the two AFX cars which resulted in an ET drop of .06 on the 57 with a .8 MPH pickup. The Challenger picked up the most with a huge .2 pickup and a 2.5 MPH improvement. The Challenger had started to run poorly for some reason? The difference between all the times run were separated by about .29 and 3.2 MPH which includes the cleaning improvements. Just wanted to add that my fastest T jet time vs AFX was only .01 quicker for the AFX. Before I changed bodies on the T jet it had the fastest time by .03. Yes for some reason or other the body slowed the cars best time by about .05. Just wanted to say I ran about 4 tests running the cars dead cold with no warm up and then trying a 10-20 second warm up. Some of the Cars went quicker with a warm up and other slowed, some by a full tenth. I sure cannot make any sense out of it.

Odd thing happened today. I was getting all my cars weighed in for the race and had to add 2 grams to my PSO shark pool entry to bring it up to spec. It consistently ran +.050 better after adding the weight . Crazy stuff.

I had to add some weight to my cars also. The Firebird with a Tomy body and AFX chassis weighed 19 grams and the other car with a resin body and Dash chassis was 20 grams.

It consistently ran +.050 better after adding the weight . Crazy stuff. I have also had the same experience. I think the extra weight either adds extra traction or stability. Putting it in the right spot also seems to make a difference.

Cars are loaded and ready to hit the hiway. They'll probably take off late tomorrow or early Tuesday. The go-cart pullin' the 4GO car is gonna have to stay in the middle of the convoy, no plates or registration .

Looks like the crew is ready for the long haul to Texas. The go kart might have a problem. Might want to disguise it as a Transformer.
