Fooled with the 4GS. Slowed it down to 1.0. Typical. Still plenty of time to make it worse.  |

I'll send 2 cars for the challenge. I feel your pain Dave, I'm thinking about starting from scratch. I may have to mail my cars off by the end of next week so I don't slow mine down any more.

I think we will have them covered. I don't think there is a need for sending 2 cars.
Looks like a strong group of cars! I'm getting pumped! Time to get to tuning on the Twisted Texan pinto.

A week ago I had a 4GS running consistently in the low 1.0's consistently. I purposely set it aside and did nothing to it other than paint the body that I was testing it with and now today it's a full +.1 slower, consistently  . |

A week ago I had a 4GS running consistently in the low 1.0's consistently. I purposely set it aside and did nothing to it other than paint the body that I was testing it with and now today it's a full +.1 slower, consistently . Must be lead in the paint.🤪 |

Hope I did not start a trend.
Took the 4G apart again today for a cleaning and managed to lose 3 MPH along with
some more ET. Found some little Gremlins crawling around it, sent Kato after them and the car picked up some ET and 2 MPH.
Crazy little cars!!! Still off by 2 MPH and .04.
On the good side all my other cars are running well. I will pull the Gassers out soon and just check them. Would only make them worse by touching them.

I purposely set it aside and did nothing to it other than paint the body that I was testing it with and now today it's a full +.1 slower, consistently . Like Bill said, stop using that Lead paint. I just got mine back to 1.00 and 13.4 MPH not bad but it was running .97 @ 14+. Took the Gassers out for their first pass since your race Gale. No warm up nothing, cold start and they both ran just like they did at your race. The Camaro did beat the Willy's by a huge .004 but the Willy's had 1 mph on the Camaro in the traps. I did fix the shunt wire but I don't think that made any difference at all. |

I did fix the shunt wire but I don't think that made any difference at all. That's good to hear Dave. I had good luck today also. Did the usual tear down and look over. Made a couple adjustments and got it into the 1.020's consistently, even turned a 1.019 . Need to get another hundredth+ off of there and I'll be good to go. I think it's doable  . Yeah, that paint mighta' had some lead in it , up to 24.1 grams. Don't think it's a big deal but just for kicks, I'm gonna throw a lighter body on it & run it just to make sure the weight is not a thing. If it is, I guess I'll be grinding out the inside of my new Mustang  .
Concerning that shunt on the Camaro, I think it might have been in a position that prevented that shoe from operating correctly during QT's, just guessin' . . . .

Gale I have found that the weight will effect ET but not the speed as much. I guess getting the weight moving especially with the lower powered cars shows more in the ET dept. I have not found this to be so true when running a high powered chassis, such as a 2.5 or Unlimited. In some cases there the heavier car was quicker, probably because of better traction.
