Hi Sam,
Please kindly put me down for one car in each class?
At which point I pretty much run out of cars. I desperately need to visit a slot car show, or flea market. May the word "lockdown" eventually disappear from our vocabulary.

Hello Dave and Bill.
Thank you very kindly. I am new to HO, and have very few cars that are AFX non MT. A mere 2-chassis to be specific.
I have no drag cars. I'm learning what's what. It will take a bit of time. I have no problem coming in last until I figure this all out.

Hello Fin, Thank you very kindly for the warm welcome. I already recieved a few PM's and will ditch the clip on AFX chassis for a T-Jet style chassis. I have one mean-green arm by sheer dumb luck and all the hopes for the world are on it to win! Sure... And I'm called Crazynski for a good reason. *that one is a little crazy eh?" It's all good fun!

Fun is what it's all about. I have been doing this for quite a few years now and others have been here even longer. A mean green is a good start for a Gasser, don't forget some good ceramic magnets, braid, wheelie bar and traction magnets.

Hi Dave632, Thank you very kindly for answering important newbie questions before being asked. I still can't figure some magnets out. There's... Dash Killer Bees - Ceramic Dash Blue/White - Ceramic Dash Lvl-6 Compression molded magnets Dash Lvl-10 Black Widow Polymer magnets Then there's neodymium magnets. What does compression molded mean vs polymer? More importantly. Are compression molded, or polymer considered ceramic? I fully understand Neodymium magnets. Those are usually easy to spot. Newbie terminology confusion 101A. Thanks a million in advance! Ken

As far as I can tell compression molded magnets indicates the process they are made with. I have not bought any to test so I can't answer if they are legal for stock classes, I have a gauss meter and my readings indicate a ceramic magnet will read between 300 and 1000, Polymer between 900 and 1900, Neo between 2000 and 4500. Polymer magnets also indicate the manufacturing process and they would be for use in Super Comp and up as they are definitely stronger. Some are definitely stronger than others. To strong a magnet is just as bad as to weak. I will check a car for magnet strength at a race when it is performing very well or winning a race, I also check armature ohms at the same time. I do not check any other cars unless the performance shows I need to.

Dash white and blue are the same as killer bees. Other manufacturers were using white and blue and made them hard to tell apart. Dash changed theirs from white and blue to yellow and black. Those are ceramic grade or level.
Trying to figure out the number system is hard. Every manufacturer uses their own number ha ha.
Dash lvl 6 are the lower strength of what will call poly class magnets. Lvl 10 being the higher magnet pull.
Dash neo's are just insanely strong. Don't go there for now.
If your looking to buy dash magnets let me know what your after. I recently ordered some of all they have. I'll just charge you what they cost so I can replace them. At least save you shipping I can send them back with your cars.
