Excess downforce slows the cars down anyway.
I once put BSRT Neo traction magnets on my Inline Unlimited and it lost
10 MPH and .1 in ET. It could run on the ceiling if you wanted, however.

My question to Dave, (see above) is that Viper V Sec legal? It comes with Level 4 polymer motor magnets.

Crazinski- you will find Inlines a lot more forgiving than pancakes.
WBJ- I do not have any Viper V sec magnets here to check. My spec of 1200 gauss
would cover all ceramic magnets and even some Poly's but most Poly magnets will
measure above that being in the 1500-2000 range. Level 4 magnets are pretty weak
and are normally classified as Ceramic so they may be OK but I do not have a set for testing.

I think he's ok. Those lvl 4 compare to stock ceramic tyco magnets. A few pair of the original tyco are even stronger than the set of lvl 4 I compared against.

I kept saying "I really like the $27 price of the Jag chassis". But everyone kept repeating to me "yes that's fine, but buy a $45 Viper chassis anyways". Oh well. The cheapskate in me lost the battle.

The magnet mod will be very useful on the Jag chassis as the traction magnets are to far from the rails to be effective. The motor magnets in the Jag are also called Poly but they check like Ceramics and are allowed. Seems like some manufacturers will use different strength magnets and call them what they please. That's why it is almost impossible to tell without some type of gauss meter. |
