Yeah, the cheaper model also lacks the speed control knob. Trade offs for price. The whole rig is portable as it can run off a 9v battery, too.
I have mine 3M double-stick taped to a scrap slab of Corian countertop (marble trophy base would work equally well) and rubber feet stuck underneath.

Here is what my whole bench space looks like. I have another bench in the garage with Dremel station and other cutting/grinding tools for "messy" work.

Here is what my whole bench space looks like. I have another bench in the garage with Dremel station and other cutting/grinding tools for "messy" work. Simpson multimeter on the shelf in the background, brings back memories. Used to use them in the USAF.
