dodge leading by a HEMI. to really replicate the mid sixties we would allow the Dodge cars to run mean green against the stock arms in chevies and fords etc, then put a weight penalty on the dodges! ;D okay i am prepared for incoming slings and arrows!!!!!!

Dodge is still running strong. Pontiac seems to be gaining some momentum going into midweek. Ford and Chevy are running fender to fender. Where are all the AMX fans?
Poll closes Friday

Here at Kdog Racing we reconize that all the American Car companys had huge contributions to auto racing. Like the first mass produced car for the common man, and a very popular salt flat racer, the Mopar Model "T". OOP'S that was Ford. The next icon the Chevy 32 Duece Coupe, WOW Ford again. OK Ok the first US car to conpete with the European cars in Sports car racing the Mopar Cobra Coupe, SHOOT another Ford. Then there was the Chevy GT 40 DANG It's all been about Ford. NEVERMIND.

I was just on the NHRA web page, looking at the national records for super stock eliminator. I noticed that the top class is now SS/AH. After some looking around I figured out what SS/AH was. NHRA wanted to give the non-Mopars a chance in SS/A and SS/AA, so they created a new class for Hemi Darts and Cudas. The chevy guys should be proud. It only took chevy and NHRA 40 years to get the SS/A and SS/AA records. Sorry ford, maybe someday Nhra will make a new class and you can have a chance at the SS/A or SS/AA records. And yes the SS/AH record is quicker and faster than the SS/A-SS/AA records.
Oh by the way, what engine is used in every top fueler? It's ok you can say it, we all know that it's the HEMI.

i love the back gound picture of the 2 tbolts :)it reminds me of watching phil bonner [tbolt] and bob tucker [63 z11 chevy racing at geneva florida back in early 1960's. bob tucker was a local racer from orlando who had a 1963 chevrolet z11 aluminum front end car,bob tucker is still living in orlando and has lots of drag racing stories

Ok MOPAR FANS heres what HEMI stand for. High Energy Motor Icon
Well I know there are more members that are MOPAR FANS out there we need to here from you and help with the smack talk about the chevys and fords. Its not like a chevy or ford going to come by your house and kick your bumpers for what you say. They know if they do there will be a HEMI to drop the hammer on them. WELCOME TO MOPAR NATION TOM

I hope that nobody actually believes that Prudohmme racing is using chevy power. Yes they are sponsored by chevy but they are powered by an aftermarket Chrysler HEMI. Even the new "ford boss 500" that Force racing is working on has HEMI heads on it. According to Wikipedia: "The engine used to power a Top Fuel drag racing car has its roots in the second generation Chrysler Hemi 426 "Elephant Engine" made 1964-71. Although the Top Fuel engine is built exclusively of aftermarket parts, it retains the basic configuration with two valves per cylinder activated by pushrods from a centrally-placed camshaft. The engine has hemispherical combustion chambers, a 90 degree V angle; 4.8" bore pitch and a 5.4" cam lift. The configuration is identical to the overhead valve, single camshaft-in-block "Hemi" V-8 engine which became available for sale to the public in selected Chrysler Corporation (Dodge, DeSoto, and Chrysler) automotive products in 1952." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_FuelThe HEMI clones have been the only successfully campainged top fuel engine for decades. It doesn't matter what decal is on the car. It still has a HEMI in it.

Here is a picture off of Prodohmme's web page. I have never seen a chevy motor with valve covers like that before. The pic was taken at the Winternationals this year.
