Does anyone know who makes the 1969 AMC Rambler Scrambler 390 v8 in an Ho scale die cast?

Not real sure on this, but I think Johnny Lightning made one of those 69 Ramblers in diecast form, altho I'm pretty sure it was a racing version. Meaning that it was a replica of a 1 to 1 drag racing car, and had sponsors and such on it. No SCrambler markings. I do remember seeing one in the blister package with a small version of a 'model car box' in the package. This would have been patterned after the Johan modelkit of the '70's. Hey TJETDENNIS It is Jonny lighting that had the 1/64 Rambler Scrambler's in Diecast and I got one. I've had it for ten year's. I had two but I sent one to a friend that's got a real one. I found another one earlyer this year that has the second style paint job they had on the later model Scrambler that's the one he's got. I'am sending him and his son this one for Christmas.

Here is an email from Troy Mead see below Hi Dennis. I don't like to copy another resin caster's work so I'll pass on the Matador Machine. However, I'm currently trying to track down the Rambler Scrambler Diecast. As soon as I run across one for sale I plan on doing that body. If you see any on ebay, send the link my way and it might speed up the process. Will the JL bodies fit right on to a T-Jet or magnatraction?

I'll take a photo and post in a few days..... JL die casts..........are not a drop on fit...shucks..................talented Body Men like the Meads can use them to protoype new castings that will fit...occassIonally yopu will run across a metal body that will fit the T JET wheelbase, if you can cobble up a body mount.
I also have a 1974 AMC Hornet hatch back. Believe it or not, I owned one of these in 1973...with a 304 engine it wasn't half bad............I still think the body is very sleek........let me know, Mead guys if you want to protoype one of those! (Wally Booth Campaigned one at one time)

Most diecast, as John said, are not a 'drop on' fit. The wheelbases are usually too long, and they do take some work to shorten and keep the proportions correct. If you are doing them for yourself, not really a problem. Just make some kind of front axle extension or make a mount for the front axle in the body itself. However, if you are trying to conform to 'class rules' they need some work. I can do them fairly easy since I've been customizing 1/64 diecast since 2001 (I'm saying all this since I have started playing with resins..watch for some new bodies from me to be released soon! ) Of course you need to create body mounts too. Also, most diecast will only fit on Tjets, without doing mods and widening. Actually widening is harder than shortening the bodies. A LOT of 'finish' work involved. ;D I have some 'oddbal' cars here that just may end up getting cast into resins, not sure yet tho. I have Chevettes, Pintos, Vegas,Mavericks, and a bunch more..even have one that I don't see getting cast. A 78 Plymouth Volare STATION WAGON! Even has the 'woodgrain' on the sides!
