(1) MOPAR (2) FORD (3) CHEVY
Attention all Gasser nats semi and finalist s in all classes, let me know what "engine" your car was running. it will be tallied in Manufacturers cup.
Unofficial driver standings (no points totals yet)
(1) Rick Voegelin (2) 440GTX (3)Dave HoChallenged (4) Demon (5) Rapid Richard
(6)Slotcrazy
(7) Sam Beckworth Tyler BH Bill (10) Dave Enola Thunderwreck (12) Tom Curtis Ninjatek Kim Beckworth Fordman Dusted John Balich KDog
Multiple names by one ranking indicates a tie for that position.
Low Et. will affect final tally for Meet weekend will be figured in fiinal tallies later this week. Ditto for Top speed.
The actual points and how they were will be posted Wednesday so that every racer can edit his tally. The actual points awarded for each round is not set yet, so these standings reflect relative rankings. As of now I have awarded points to all semifinalists as well as winner and runner up IN EACH CLASS. I may decide to go one round deeper in points awards, which will move everyone up a notch but add more total points and more names to the list. if you are Confused, blame me.
Wednesday it will be clearer I promise!

BTW.............It has been pointed out to me that the points race for owners might be a flawed idea. Guys who participate from a "host' track can't compete on race weekend and therefore are handicapped.
Understand that the points race is strictly for fun and good natured ribbing. If guys get too serious and hurt feelings result we will suspend it. Our sense of humor and fun thinks it would be great drama and foolish frivolity if a perennial class "C" winner beat out a front runner.............. The class B or C or even "D" guy gets a boost, and the class "A" front runners already know who they are anyhow.
Here is a possibility. We could 'weight' points performances againts total POSSIBLE points as a winning percentage. That way a racer who is 'frozen out' on race weekend would not be penalized. We could rule that to be eligible a racer has to compete in every event but ONE. (the one would be the weekend the said racer is helping host the meet.) By requiring near perfect participation, you would eliminate a guy winning in the first meet then bowing out to maitain a high percentage.
Another possibility is to use both standards. Half the score would be the weighted score, and half would be tha actual score. Anyhow, it will be an arbitrary and dictatorial ruling if it comes to that, because the points race is meant to be kind of a 'mythical' standard intended for fun only. The only 'prize' attached to it is likely to be some sort of perpetual gag trophy to remind us we are here for fun.
Weigh in on this if you like, but as a said its not to be taken too seriously. If this friendly banter and goofing off and smack talking can work anywhere, it is with this group of guys!

When we run for points here we usually throw out one of the races. This gives guys a chance to miss one race or throw out a bad race of theirs. This would allow the hosting track racers to stay in the points race. Just a thought.

I'll have the revised points and explanation of how they are tallied in a day or so. Because it is a 'mythical' points chase, I get to make the rules! The tally is for fun and good natured smack talk. Just know ahead of time, a Class C winner is awarded the same points as a class "a" winner. That keeps the outcome in doubt right up to the end, and gives everybody a shot at the fun. There is no prize attached, so no hurt feelings will be accepted! ;D
If you guys have any ideas for other fun stuff pass them along. One posssibility would be a "Manufacturers Race" where every competitor would 'sign' (enter) with a Brand Name car (Mopar, Chevy, Ford....and the guys would compete as teams. Or perhaps this could be added to a regular event. The only thing limiting us is our imagination and the work load limits of the hosting track.
