POINTS CHAMPION CHASE: I think we have a devised a fair, fun (and needlessly complex, perhaps) point system for this years Championship racing. There are a couple of wrinkles that are brought about by our 'close competition' system of breaking down classes into A and B groups when there are enough entries.
I think we have a points system worked out. A, B, C Our system rewards a driver for getting into the top 8 (Class A)......yet also rewards a class B car for winning multiple rounds. We'll graph it for you guys so it makes sense. To sum it up simply, a Guy qualifying 8 gets more points than the 9-16 guys.......until the 9 -16 guys beging to accumlate round wins. A guy winning a couple of rounds in does 'catch up' to a upper group qualifier who loses his first round............ but not by much. It balances round wins against high qualifiers and I think it makes sense (to me lol) It does need to be graphed to understand and we'll work on it this morning. In the end guys who qualify in top 8 regularly are the ones who will be points champ.
TOP ELIMINATOR CHASE: This is a separate tally, which rewards round wins ONLY. A class "C' winner is thus ranked EQUAL to a Classs 'B' winner and to the Class 'A' winner.
If you are a perennial Class B qualifier, or Class C qualifier you still have a points race to watch. This one should be fun and hard to predict til the the last race.
