I was just looking at the stocker rules and it has not changed. So are the double flange wheels legal or not? I currently have them mounted and need to know if they need removed.

I was just looking at the stocker rules and it has not changed. So are the double flange wheels legal or not? I currently have them mounted and need to know if they need removed. Two years ago there was some debate about allowing dual flange wheels for T-Jet Stock Class. Having input from the authors of the ruling it was determined that the intent of the rules are to allow only stock plastic wheels along with stock ribbed tires or replacement tires of same dimension. In short no double flange wheels allowed. The wording was never changed as you have pointed out. To lessen confusion I will add the changes shortly and issue a bulletin stating the same. Thanks for the question.

I have two questions regarding the rules for the stock class. First, the rules say a list of suitable tires are listed but I couldn't find a list. Is there one? Second, is it permissible to shim the axles to limit side to side play and ensure proper setup of the pinion and crown gears?

They are being looked into and a list of accepted tires will be coming shortly.

I have at least one more question, sorry. I have some NOS lighted chassises that have had the wires cut off (that's the way they came to me) and I was wondered if it would be legal to drill out the rivets to remove the extra plate for the lighting system and then rivet it back together using a copper rivet? It appears that the supply of NOS plain chassises has been depleted. I see this as just bringing the lighted chassis to the same level as a plain chassis.

Second, is it permissible to shim the axles to limit side to side play and ensure proper setup of the pinion and crown gears? A Bulletin has been generated showing a partial listing of tires. Updates will be applied as necessary. Washers/ shims are allowed for use on axle. It appears that the supply of NOS plain chassises has been depleted. I see this as just bringing the lighted chassis to the same level as a plain chassis. There is no reason that this chassis should be deemed illegal if the copper plate were removed, providing no excess material (plastic) is removed by which it may appear as chassis lightening and the remaining components are within specs of class being run. In addition, once rivet is removed there is no need to reinstall a replacement.

Thanks, Ninja. I was talking about the copper plates on the bottom of the chassis that the wires are soldered to.

Thanks, Ninja. I was talking about the copper plates on the bottom of the chassis that the wires are soldered to. Same reasoning applies, but but in this case you'll want to re-install rivets.
