HO Racing Association - St. Louis
Technical Drag Race Rules
Bracket Class
Cars: Must use a T-Jet style chassis and motor (Aurora, Johnny Lightning, Tuff-Ones, etc.). It can be modified in any manner (rewound, shunts, magnets, lightened, weighted, etc.). The body can be anything that resembles an actual 1:1 drag race vehicle. No part of the car may come in contact with the track surface other than the four tires, a guide pin and the pickup shoes. Scale-size, realistic wheelie bars are allowed provided they are true representations of real Drag racing vehicles and the contact area of the track rolls (no exceptions to this rule will be allowed).
Chassis: Any T-Jet type, or any of the modern alternatives of that style chassis may be used. Modifications to the chassis in any form are allowed. Chassis must be mounted to the body with two screws using standard screw posts.
Bodies: May be lowered or rebuilt to a scale appearance. Custom bodies must maintain a consistent thickness, similar to original T-Jets including windshields. Vacuum formed bodies are specifically not allowed, bodies must be of a solid plastic or resin material. Front tires and wheels may not protrude past the width of the body unless it is in keeping with the scale representation of an actual full size car. Must be a “Drag Appropriate” car.
Wheels/Tires: Tire, wheel and axle width combined cannot exceed 1 1/4”.
Technical Director: The Technical Director’s decisions are final in the area of a car’s eligibility to race or score points. In the event that the HORA-STL Technical Director is not in attendance at the event then it will be at the Track Owner’s decision to determine a car’s eligibility.
1:1 Drag Race Vehicle: Any body that might have run in any drag race format in the last 50 years.
Prizes: All attendees will be awarded an attendance plaque to acknowledge their participation. In addition anyone can contribute any special prizes they see fit for any reason whatsoever. The Top Qualifier, Top Eliminator, Runner-up and a Best in Show (Concors) will receive plaques designating their accomplishment at each event.
