I know we haven't discussed this but how do you want to handle racers that are on the list changing bodies? I like the thought of having familiar looking cars that are identifiable by racer but also don't want to discourage someone that wants to change bodies. On Street Outlaws if a new car is introduced by a racer that is already on the list, they start back in the shark pool. That seems a little extreme to me in our program since we are not racing 100k cars so I wanted to bring this up for discussion.
Here are some options open for discussion.
1.) To discourage changing bodies I suggest that we implement a rule for the top 5 cars. If a racer in the top 5 wants to change bodies then they are bumped to the #6 position allowing #6 - #2 to automatically move up one position. My reasoning for only doing this for the top 5 only is that if we bump a racer off the list that is in the 1-5 spots then they are most likely going to beat up on the shark pool and move their way up the list quickly, discouraging those trying to make their way up the list as well. This rule would not apply to list positions 6-10 and they'll be able to change bodies without being penalized. Along with this rule, a racer that does switch bodies will also have the last call out on day 1 of an event.
2.) Bump off the list entirely
3.) No penalty, switch bodies as you wish.
Thoughts?

I like #1. As you say the cars should be recognizable just like on the Street Outlaw show. Some of those cars were there from the start. About the show I see where they are now going back to so called "street cars". What a joke, where does a steel roof and quarters make it a street car??? The Beretta I had originally had a steel roof and quarters. The rest was all out race car, full moly chassis, aluminum floors etc. When the body was changed to all fiberglass it saved roughly 100 lbs. making it no more of a street car than it was before. Yes I could drive it on the street but it was by no means a car you would use to go to work in or get some groceries.

One question I have about whoever does not send their list car in to defend their spot. I don't think it has happened yet but do we have any set rule about that? Personally I feel they should automatically drop two spots and the person who is just below that should be allowed to challenge the car above the no show...

Option #1. I also agree with Dave on the no show rule....drop 2 spots and car below can call out spot in front of the no show.

thanks for the input guys. I also like Dave's no show rule. These rules will also apply to Pro Street Outlaws.

So, Do you call out each other on the Four gear Outlaw class or do you just send in your car? And, you can only have one car on the list, but you can enter 2, the fastest races??? Just making sure... I like keeping the same car/body in the Street Outlaw class... I think there might be too much call out confusion otherwise...Thank, RM

Thoughts? #3 sounds best. #1 and 2 may force a racer to have to choose between going after best appearing competition and staying in the top 5. The bodies would have minimal effect on performance. Not sure if others have done it, but I changed PSO bodies between the last 2 events.

You have your car on the list and that is the car you will send for list racing. You can call out the spot in front of you and move up. The Winter Nationals I ran Doorslammer as a class, so everyone was able to enter two cars. We were setting the initial list position for 4 Gear Outlaw during qualifying for eliminations. Fastest car went to the list and that was it. It was Doorslammer eliminations after that. Hope this answers your question.

noted Bill. We didn't have any clear rules for bodies for these two classes until now. The new rule is to discourage the top 5 on each list from changing bodies but will give them the option to do so. Most all of our events have at least two traditional eliminations type races which allows a racer to go for "best appearing" if they choose to do so.

Race is just over 2 weeks away now. Time is getting short for preparation. I suggest shipping your entries at least 5 days before the event. Some of the cars in the last event at Bear Creek made it on the last day. Here is the shipping address for those who do not have it: DAVE VINCE 1929 GRENADA BLVD. KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE 37922 The #1 car is sitting on its stand waiting for the upcoming challenge. At the last race the crown was won by only .001 and the call out has been issued for the #1 spot. The Rebel 57 Chevy has been tuned and is ready for the challenge, bring it on... 57 lit up

The Charger body on my 4 Gear Outlaw is something I threw together in a hurry. Was hoping to upgrade it. Looks like the list race is the only venue for 4 Gears

will anyone have heartache if we implement the body rule after Dave's race? I think it is a fair request seeing how the race is only a few weeks away and this discussion just started yesterday.
